Except it was also mentioned in the independent study I posted a link to.
Key word "independant", not "official".

Well, I've been on this merry-go-round from the get-go, and I've got to say that at this point, I'm reading just to see what nytimez will say next...
P.S. Are you accepting applications for groupies?

Wow...back to that whole "official" thing. Disney doesn't have to give an official reason for doing it. And "official" does not mean "real", either, as discussed a few pages back.
Since Disney also did not publicly (or even internally) say exactly why they are enforcing Fastpasses either, I guess saying it was because of abuse of late FPs holds no water either, because it is not "official". Or for that matter, are they even "officially" enforcing Fastpass return times?
By the way, here's another one for the analogy lovers, and this one comes right from Disney, and isn't just be pulling something out of thin air - it's real:
On the page to purchase Individual Enrollment YES program tickets, it says that a 7 day premium ticket includes 5 water park and DQ admissions.
But the tickets, when they arrive, are good for 7 water park and DQ admissions. I know this, as that is what others are reporting they are getting. So I order them, and I get a ticket with 7 water park and DQ admissions. If I use the 6th or 7th admission, am I being bad? After all, according to the web site, I should only have gotten 5. People may have to wait if they reach capacity while I'm in there, after all.
[Why, why, why did I post in this thread again?]
What is this fair amount of evidence besides rumors? Please share.
The full circle reference was about the conversation arriving back to the same point...not sure you what you thought it was.
Redirecting question once again... You cannot pull out Independant Study, which is pretty much someone opinion on a big scale and use it as an Official explanation. You know this just like I do.
And once again, I do not ask for analogies, I am asking one very simple question, if Time Window does not matter and letting people in late not an exception, why it is there?

mm, last night, as we were entering an attraction in the MK, the FP greeter stopped the person in front of us, and explained that her FPs had "expired" (it was about 8:30pm, and apparently her passes were from sometime that morning.) So the CM explained about March 7, etc., and of course, asked the guest to proceed and enjoy the ride.
The guest replied: "But what if I have dinner reservations, and the FP window is at the same time? What am I supposed to do?" To which the CM replied, bluntly but politely: "Then you wouldn't get a FP for that attraction."
The guest was completely baffled. Of course there were now 40 people behind her waiting to go through the line... We thought the CM handled it perfectly.
I did not say it was an official explanation. But we've gotten that explanation from more than one source, one of which was an independent study on virtual queue systems and talked to Disney designers. It is _an_ explanation, which is what you asked for. Disney does not, in fact, offer an explanation, official or otherwise, as to why the time window is there. You can infer an explanation if you so choose, but it is not official either.
Like I said, Disney doesn't want me skipping my dining experience (Disney losing $$$).

So are you suggesting that you ain't got it -- or that you just never had it? It's gotta be one or the other, right?
Try sucrifising chickens, and eventually you'll be vendicated.
I am asking one very simple question, If Park Hours does not matter and letting people in (stores) late not an exception, why is it (park close time) there?
I fully expect you to not answer, even though doc's answered your question about a billion times.
"Its the song that never ends...It goes on and on my friends."
I need to stop reading this thread, it is making my eyes hurt. Instead, I will just jump into the fray.
Am I the only one who lurks over on the CM discussion board? It can be pretty eye-opening. They seem to agree that letting people use FPs past their given time window was meant to help out people who truly had issues, and it was not meant to be a free for all to return any time. It sounds like they just got sick of all the crying and complaining and started to just let people use them anytime. Instead of having to listen to them whine.
It is more and more as if Disney is just trying to go back to having guests use the FPs as they intended them to be used.
And I already explained that we can use any number of analogies here both Disney and non Disney related and none of them will actually answer FP question. I understand your intention to redirect attention but as I said, FP question remains regardless of your or my analogies.
