Is Hub an official Disney site?

The Hub is Disney's internal site for use by cast members to access official Disney policies and information. Also used by Disney to distribute information to cast members. It is as official as it gets.

The Hub is the official Walt Disney Company Intranet. It is available only to Cast Members (Parks and Resorts, Imagineering, and Corporate) and requires a Disney-issued User ID and a password.

Well, then, thank heaven those CMs have access to it. Irregardless, my inability to access it hasn't kept any CM from letting me use my FP after the window printed on it.

You can believe what you want to believe -- if you think using FPs outside the window is "bad," then please enjoy using them inside the window. You and others can try to create an artificial universe in which Disney's actual policy is not a "policy," but the facts are the facts:

I have experienced the joy of Disney's policy of accommodating late FPs and so have thousands of others.

You can't take my joy away -- there are FOUR LIGHTS!!!

so in other words, regardless of how I feel or you enjoy, this site or document are not for public knowledge. You may experience it but you meant to know what official rules are. And if all you know is official policy, you meant to follow it again regardless to what happens if you don't.

Technically, that "policy" appears nowhere on the HUB. Also, that document seen on this site frequently (which indicates that CMs can allow late arrivals to enter), has not been used in many, many years (and at WDW, maybe never.)

On the other hand, the media mentioned by the OP (items A, B, and C) all do appear, for everyone to see.

You've said that before, but another CM confirmed finding it on the Hub, AFTER the more recent memo was sent out. So it certainly seems to be on there. And I already said it must have been MADE for WDW, since the document specifically shows images of Fastpasses that are WDW-specific. Not sure why you don't think it has been used.

Seems unfindable. I missed the post where a CM said they saw it on the HUB, sorry. If it was ever used at WDW, it was a very long time ago.

Well, now, I wouldn't know about that. I don't have access to The Hub since I'm not a CM. All I can do is take the word of the CMs who have confirmed that policy -- just like I believed the CMs who let me use my FPs outside the window.

In the end, that's neither here nor there. Bottom line: I've done it, and I'll continue to do it until they tell me I can't, and then I'll study the new system and work up the best strategy I can to get the maximum benefit out of it.

If that includes using my FPs up to 5 minutes early or 15 minutes late (as referenced earlier in this thread), I'll do so, as long as it's the official policy to let me (or the unofficial policy of CMs who have the latitude to let me).

I have other ideas in mind for dealing with this "change", many of which are predicted upon the length of the return time windows and the printed time of next FP accessibility. My apologies if I missed this info in the previous 1000s of posts. Does anyone in the know (which is a loose term here on the Dis) have imput on these 2 issues?
So far, our new touring stategy, reflective of these changes encompasses the following -
1. Morning ADRs in park only, PRIOR to rope drop in first slot.
2. Always make rope drop.
3. Brown bag snacks and lunches to allow eating while waiting.
4. Get FPs before riding, still using runner.

I will be following this plan as well. Well, except for the brown bagging. I am going to purchase snacks and QS and eat them instead. Oh, and I won't make rope drop if I stay in the park until 3am the night before. But other than that, I think you are on the right track completely.

But what is "ancient"? That document is from no earlier than 2006, from the information on it.

I take it you are a CM - do you work the lines? If so, how/when did you first learn of the policy? On what basis do you make the claim that it "has not been used in many, many years (and at WDW, maybe never.)" I'm just trying to understand why you believe that.

I agree with the WOW. I've found this thread to be most informative. Little did I know when I first posted that it would be so long! Like I had posted before, been going to WDW since it opened and when they started the FP system I had no idea that the times on the ticket were not written in stone. Never heard a CM say anything about using it anytime I wanted. I really don't care that others have used it late. I do care when I go to get a FP and they are all gone, but what can ya do.

What I find amazing is the lengths people go to when planning on having a good time. Figuring out the best strategy, racing to get the FP's early, etc, is not my idea of fun...I just go with the flow and try not to get run over by anyone.

No, he means the official, non-public site used to communicate information between management and the CMs (all of them). As CF already posted, "The Hub is the official Walt Disney Company Intranet." By definition, it is not for un-official information.

Things CAN be official and not public, you know. Official and public mean two different things.

Otherwise, I guess the memo saying the changes are happening on March 7th is unofficial, and we should plan for business as usual...

I just hope some of these people never end up in a ride line at the same time. Or if they do, they all have synchronized watches so the "official" time doesn't come into question.

I do have access to the HUB, and that is how I learned about 3/7. I also have some visibility into training and training materials, and have for many years. It's true that CMs are taught to admit late FP arrivals (and some also learn about the consequences of that practice.)

But that particular document is very dated. I suspect that the reason people outside of Disney have been able to obtain it, is because it was discarded by a CM at some point.
