FastPass+ Discoveries!

Someone told me on here yesterday single riders get to design as well. I'm thinking they are mistaken and it is an abbreviated version of the design process with pre-made cars to choose from. Guess I'll find out in 2 days!

Yes, that is my understanding also. SR gets to choose from a number of prefab cars. Thanks for the clarification!

The SR line bypasses the only two true design rooms I know of. Where they choose their car I am not clear.

Can anyone confirm that with the FP for TT you still get to design your car where in the single rider line you bypass that? Have a son who wouldn't want to miss the designing part?

Yes, my coworker just got back from last week's trip and you still build the car when using a fastpass.

When we did single-rider a couple of weeks ago, we passed a small number of design machines both times we used single-rider. The first time, the end of the line was well ahead of the machines so we didn't even slow down. The second time, there was a group of people in front of us who just finished using the machines and we waited a moment for them to move on. They had thier cards for scanning with them.

We didn't use the machines or watch someone using them so I don't know what all could be done on them. They looked just like the others but maybe they have features in the program to short-cut the design process.

I scanned the reader with my wristband just before entering the vehicle and the system randomly selected a car design for me.

In prior years I always lined up on the little bridge by tomorrowland for the internal rope drop there going for Space Mountain. But now I want to be lined up for 7 dwarfs. I am such a bad visualizer I can't SEE where the elsa crowd would veer off...but I would think there is an internal rope near the tea cups...
thanks!

The Frozen crowd goes up both walkways around the statue, up and through the castle. If you are eating at Crystal Palace, you will probably be stuck on that side of the hub until the herd approaches, and the teacup spoke is on the opposite side. If you are eating in the castle, they will allow you to queue up on the backside of the castle in front of the carousel.

I recommend going into the post-show area (through the gift shop at the exit and back) and in the room where you can take pictures with the cars, there is a bank of 4 Design stations against the wall. A CM will help you locate them. There, you have no time limit for designing, and you can do it over and over again until you are satisfied. It was great for my family, as everyone could design their own car before riding. When you are in the queue, you either have to do it as a group, or let one person design. There were 6 of us, so the whole group was pitted against each other for best car!

Wow that's great info thank u

I agree with everyone else, great post. I went back in early March and enjoyed the magicband for opening our room, paying for items but like many thought three fp+ wasn't enough. Now that they have added a 4th and so on I need to wrap my head around how to get the most bang out of my 4th etc fp+ as we have a Thanksgiving trip planned for our family. Is the consensus now to make your fp+ for immediately in the morning??? I'm glad I have a few months to read the boards and try to figure this ALL out. :)

Thanks for the info! Especially about expedition everest being broken and people stuck on the incline. I will not let my child on that alone in case he tries to get out when it's stuck on the incline.

Chiming in on the Test Track single rider conversation: I did SR in February. There were a few machines (IIRC at a wide point in the line, you either walked past or stopped at one) where you could do a simplified version of designing a car. I can't remember all the details, but basically you chose a pre-designed car from maybe 4 or 5 options and made a couple of other choices (I'm sure one was which feature you wanted to optimize, like performance or efficiency or whatever). So you do get a car to "test," but you're just choosing from a few pre-set options.
