i am always a bit wary of putting my disney hopper ticket in the fastpass machine incase something happens to my ticket.has anyone had any bad experiences like ticket getting chewed up etc????
 
No...we've used the FastPass machines dozens of times...never had a problem.

I assume you are talking about the regular credit-card sized plastic ticket?
 
Just don't leave your ticket in the machine. It happens a lot. We turned in 7 of them while we were down there.
 
We also got an extra ticket, but caught the family in front of us to give it back to them!

The only issue we had was when DD's ticket's magnet strip seemed to wear out and we couldn't get the FP machines to read it. The attendant there gave me a special ticket to use just in FP machines for the day to get FP for her ticket. Since we had trouble the next day at the gate w/her ticket again, I just went to Guest Relations and they "read" her ticket, knew how many days we had used and were able to give me a new ticket to replace hers.
 

Just an FYI,
if you have any trouble with the machines not being able to read your ticket, make sure you try it upside down. Those machines are supposed to be able to read the tickets no matter what direction you put them in, but there were lots of times when they wouldn't read our tickets with the stripe down, but did fine with the stripe up.

That's really nothing to worry about - there is always a CM near the FastPass machines to fix them if something goes wrong. And if your ticket doesn't scan, a quick visit to any guest relations location will fix you right up with a new ticket that will work. You will not lose your pass unless you leave it in there. And in that case, it may still be recoverable at guest relations if it has your personal information associated with it or you have a copy of the back of the ticket.

Anyhoooooooow...Yes this actually happened to us last year....EVERYDAY! For some reason everytime we put our Nephews card in the Fastpass machine..it ATE his. Only his!.

Everytime it happened there was a CM there, who gave us a temp card, and when we returned to our resort...They gave us a new card EVERYNIGHT!

No one knew why it was happening....and we sorta laughed it off.

I sorta think it had to do with I gave him charging privelages, he was 11 at the time. And he used it. It was soooooooooo much easier for him to run to the POP main dining hall to get whatever he wanted. However every CM said No that couldnt be the reason.

Whatever, It di become a running joke! :goodvibes
