Of course the first hurricane this season that could possibly hit Florida has to hit while we'll be there (thank you Mother Nature). They're forecasting that it will hit Florida on Monday. Currently we are planning on going to Blizzard Beach on Monday. We have a 4 day w/water park option ticket and I've already secured my FP+ for 4 theme park days. I'm thinking that we may switch our BB day with our Animal Kingdom day. Can I schedule fast passes for AK Monday in case we need them while still keeping my other 4 days of fast passes? So in essence I would have 5 days of fast passes scheduled. Once I know for sure how Erica is going to play out I would cancel whichever day we wouldn't need. Anyone know if this is possible?

No, sorry. If you have 4 days of park tickets, you can have up to 4 days of FPs.

You can't do that.

Can I ask you why you want to switch days? The storm may cause heavy rains and I would much rather be at a water park than AK.

I would rather be at the water park in sun than rain. I know you're going to be wet anyway, but when I picture myself on the lazy river, I'm not picturing heavy downpours and high winds. lol

I can't imagine the water park would be open. If it passes right overhead, they may even close the parks for at least a partial day.

I have a 3-day trip in October that I've already booked FPs for, but I'm able to go in and book a 4th day. I don't think the system limits you by how many days you have on your tickets.

It absolutely does. How many days of tickets do you have linked?

They only let you book fastpasses for the number of days on your ticket. I go for 14 days with a 10 day ticket and I can only book 10 days of FP anywhere in that 14 day window. I would rather go to AK in the rain and have a nice day for the waterpark. I've been to the waterparks in the rain, it's not as fun. One tip, if you do go to the waterpark on a rainy day, bring a poncho to wrap your bag with towels in. We did this so we would still have dry towels when we were ready to leave.

Order adult beverages from Garden Grocer and plan a room party...just in case. If it's a downpour invite other resort guest near your room. We did this when the hurricane hit back in the later 90's and they closed the parks. No garden Grocer then but we brought our own case beer and wine.

While the water parks can close due to weather its very rare that they close a theme park.

We were there for TS Fay and we didn't change our plans.

To the OP, I wouldn't be changing plans based on a hurricane forecast 5-6 days out. A lot can happen between now and then.

Also, FPs for DAK are pretty much available even the day before. So, if you do have to switch plans you can probably get pretty good FPs the day before or even the same morning. If the weather is so bad that you don't want to go to BB, that would affect crowds and wait times at DAK too.

In 2011 we were at WDW helping our daughter move in for a stint on the Disney College Program. Before we left, they were tracking a hurricane that was going to threaten Florida the day we were scheduled to leave. I began looking into the possibility of leaving Florida a day or two earlier than planned, but a couple of days before we were going to be leaving, the projected path of the storm was moved 100 miles or so to the east. On the day we left it was sunny with pretty strong winds (30-40 MPH) from the storm that was out in the Atlantic, but it didn't affect us or our flight at all. That storm (Irene) ended up doing nothing in Florida but wreaked havoc in the U.S. Northeast.

Keep your eye on the forecast and be prepared to change plans, but IMHO it's too early to do anything yet.

It's not going to hit Central Florida directly. If it hits Florida at all, It will hit the southern tip, and will be a category 1. Anything more than some extra rain is very unlikely.

AK is the absolute worst place to be on a very rainy day.

And yet...

Disney built the system to limit FPs to the number of valid ticket days. What you are seeing is not the norm.

I don't know where you're getting your info, but that's an entirely inaccurate statement. Nobody knows for sure where this is going, but to say that it won't impact CF more than some rain is not correct. The scenario you discussed could happen but it also could go way north and just go out to see. That said, the most likely forecast for now suggests it hits Palm Beach County (well north of Miami) and then possibly continue across the state. Although that's not certain by any means, you can't rule out some very very severe weather impacting WDW. Even WDWMAGIC has advised it readers to monitor this storm. By no means am I saying this will impact WDW for sure, but it's important to keep any eye out but certainly wait to make any changes or decisions to your plans.

I have an 8 day pass + waterpark day, and I had the same thought as you with regard to our schedule next week. Thursday was our water park day, and I decided to schedule fastpasses just in case we couldn't do a park on Monday. I now have FPs for 9 days. It allowed me to add FPs for the 9th day even though we have 8 day tickets. However, after reading this thread, I went in and deleted my Thursdays FPs because I don't want to risk the system deleting my 9th day, which is our last MK day and super planned out. Maybe the system would've caught it tonight?

It will let you choose from more that a 3 day window but once you try to book more than your allotted 3 days it wills ay you do not have valid admission for that day.
That's the edit page. I've already booked 4 days of FP+. The text on the page says "only the days on which you have made FP selections are listed"
