I just thought of something. Can we get a fastpass with my DD's ticket (she's 5) for rides like California Screamin' that she won't go on and my hubby or I could use it? We can't both ride together anyone because one of us will need to stay with her.

Just wondering if it was specific to a person or had "child" on it or something.

My wife and daughter never ride the big rides, so I use their passes for my son and I. This works great at MGM and the Magic Kingdom in FLA. I get 2 for splash mountain and two for Big Thunder Mountain. At MGM it's two for rocking rollercoaster and Tower of Terror

Yes, anyone can use them. In fact I gave my extra FP's out as we were leaving the park.

Flagger is correct. The FP is not tied to a particular person. I would do exactly what you are suggesting.

During our trip in August, we had six FPs for Space Mtn our family of six, but only my DW and one child wanted to go on SM that night. So they took all six with the intent of riding three times in a row. Turns out once was enough for them, and they gave away the unused FPs to a very grateful family of four. The standby line was almost two hours long...
