:confused3 Someone at work today said that you would be able to get Fastpasses reserved before you left from home. Did she know what she was talking about or is this just a rumor?

Maybe she is confused with Universal? Where you get that perk for staying onsite? I think they also have some sort of fastpass you can purchase, something like you can use it once per ride that offers fastpass. Not sure if it is at the gate or ahead of time though.

Hope she's not buying them on ebay

ETA: I think there was some sort of news article that talked about this perhaps being an option in the future...you can reserve a fastpass time like you do a restaurant adr. There were some threads on it, will see if I can find them...

Yeah this is 100% not true.

It is an IDEA that Disney is considering in the future, but currently not in the works.

I know there was a survey sent out to a lot of Disney folks asking if they wanted this feature in the future, but currently is not in use.

I don't have the link handy, but I know recently, the Orlando Sentinel had an article about this being true. However, it probably won't be available for a few more years to come.

At an investors conference within the last few weeks, they gave an overview of some of their new initiatives that they're working on. This one one of the things. No timeframe given but it's something they're actively working on.

I utilize FP whenever possible, but the thought of having to "reserve" times for rides, character interactions, etc. just boggles my mind. It is enough work sometimes just to get those ADR's on the right day. It sure changes travel when everything has to be planned out and reserved ahead of time. Part of travel for me is to experience stuff that I haven't planned out months in advance! Just my opinion.

I agree. I plan to a certain extent but still need some flexibilty. There are a number of reasons for changing plans during a visit and going to a different park than originally planned. Maybe the FP reservations will only be allowed just prior to park opening or the day before but not way in advance.

There are rumors that Disney is considering that.

But to date - no reserving FP's.

is it true that if you do the disney vacation club tour, you'll get FPs when you finish the tour to use for all of the rides???
