FastPass+ and non-entry day

I have not seen this addressed in any of the FastPass+ threads, and I believe it might be a fairly common situation:

We're arriving in the afternoon for a six-night stay. We have five-day Park Hoppers, so obviously one of our days will be a non-park day.

If we make FastPass reservations for late in the day on arrival day, then decide not to visit parks, what happens if we simply let those FastPasses expire? Is Disney software smart enough to realize we never entered a park that day, and that we still have 5 days left on our Park Hoppers?

Or have we lost a day of FastPasses?

I realize that the best thing to do in this situation is to go in and cancel the FastPass reservations if it becomes clear we won't be going to a park, but you can never tell what a travel day will be like.

Anyone know how this would go down?

I believe if you do not check in for your FP+ time, the system knows and that FP+ is still available to you. For example, if you had a FP+ for Space Mtn and couldn't make it over there in time, you will still have that FP+ available to do what you would like with.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong!

Yes, Cando, thanks, I believe you're right about that. But I'm talking about a situation where you never enter the parks at all, never use a day on your park hopper.

Will FastPass+ still allow us five full days of reservations if we allow a day of FastPasses to expire unused?
