We missed the Osbourne Lights last Christmas, and the sole reason for going this December is to see them. However, I would also like to catch the 8:00 Spectromagic Parade and 9:00 Wishes at MK the same night. Is this possible? We'll be there on Sat, the 4th, so I'm expecting a crowd. I know it's not going to start getting dark enough to enjoy the lights until after 6:00. Is there a quicker way from MGM to MK than going through Epcot to get on the monorail? I can't see us getting out of MGM until 7:00, so I'm thinking I may have to skip Spectro - skipping Wishes is out of the question. :) Any other thoughts or opinions? We would have a car, so we could drive - although I would prefer not to. What do you think?

Take the bus from MGM to MK. I think it may stop at TTC, where you would have to boat or monorail over. You also could catch a Contemporary bus at MK and monorail over to MK. Another option would be to walk/boat to Swan from MGM and catch a bus to MK from there.

Now, I had not thought about taking a bus to one of the monorail resorts, instead of going through Epcot. And yeah, I guess I could walk back to the Swan and take a bus from there. Which of the two do you think would be quicker? Is there actually buses from park to park - I thought they only went from parks to resorts.

Like I said, driving is an option - so if that turns out being faster, that's fine.

Do you guys think this is even possible regardless of which transportation I use? I feel kinda confident about Wishes, but how about getting Spectro in there too?

Yes there are park to park busses (except for MK Epcot which has the monorail).

Your best bet is to catch the Contemporary bus and walk to MK. The monorail will take 20+ minutes. Timewise, 15 minutes waiting for bus, 15 minute bus ride, 5 minute walk.

If the Contemporary line is too long, you can catch the MK bus and then catch the express monorail. Timewise, 20 minutes waiting for bus, 15 minute bus ride, 10 minute monorail ride.

Okay - now where's the path from the Contemporary to MK? Don't want to waste time looking for it.

Thanks!

The simple version is to just follow the monorail beam. That's pretty much how it runs.
What I do when going from MGM to MK is see which bus comes first. If the MK bus to the TTC comes first, I jump on that. If the Contemporary, Poly, Grand Floridian bus comes first, I go on that. That bus will stop at the Contemporary first. Where the bus enters the lot at the Contemporary, you will see the walkway to your left.

The bus stop at the Contemporary is on the side closest to MK. So when you get off the bus, start walking AWAY from the Contemporary on the bus stop sidewalk. I know it sounds confusing but it really isn't. As you are walking, you will see a large sign (2 ft by 5 ft) saying MK walkway. Follow the sign.

If you don't see the sign, just follow the monorail track. The walkway is right below it.

Thanks Guys!! Sounds easy enough!

You are really almost there if you drive. I would not even think about Disnbey trnsportation if I was on such a tight schedule. I would drive. Whe You come out of MGM make a left. As you start to go up the overpass you will see a sign for the MK. It takes you off on the right and you are on the road to the MK You can be ther in a little as 5 minutes. Then of course you will need to make a deceision about the monorail or boat

Think about the fastest way all-in...if you take the bus from MGM to CR and then walk to MK, it might not be a lot slower than driving, however, then you'll have to take another bus back to MGM after leaving MK and the buses are going to be a lot more crowded after the park closes. Instead, if you drive, your car will be right there at TTC. Remember, it doesn't cost any extra to park at a different theme park once you've paid for the day. Drive!!!

We're staying at the Dophin, so we actually would just take the boat to MGM that afternoon before hopping to MK. So, leaving MK is not an issue - we'd just take the bus back to the Dolphin.

But, I am thinking that driving from MK to MGM may save some time. I just like to lock that van and leave it behind when we're at Disney. One of the reasons we're staying at the Dolphin is for the location - I love being able to walk to the parks!! - but I guess I have to decide if I love leaving the van behind more than I want to see Spectro. :)

Sorry, when you said you'd have your car, I was assuming you were parking at MGM. I still think your best bet is to drive, but I must admit that I'm a little biased against the Disney buses.

I underestand when you say about locking your car and leaving it the entire time you are there. WE use to do the Same thing. To be honest with you I got tired of waiting for buses to come and we stay at the boardwalk Villas and they are the last to be picked up starting with the Swan, Dolphiin, Yc and BC and not having a seat or the buses were to full and we would have to wait for the next bus. Also coming back in the evening it seemed like they did not put exrtra buses on to carry the large amount of people go back to those five hotels.n So we started driving and now that is how we do all of the traveling around WDW. We get there in half of the time and basically no waiting for buses. We don't have to walk the long walk from the parking lot of the hotel, we valet. I have trouble with my feet so this helps. Plus we get to the area we want to go without having to stop at other plades.
