Faster from Poly?

If you are staying in Tokelau, is it faster to take the water taxi from Poly to MK or to walk to TTC and take the ferry boat? (I assume the monorail is faster in both cases, just curious about comparing the boat times)

Also, it is faster to take the monorail from Poly or to walk to TTC (from Tokelau) and take the monorail from TTC?

The TTC monorail station and ferry dock are far closer to the Poly DVC buildings than either the Poly monorail station or the Poly water taxi dock. So most guests in the Poly DVC buildings walk to the TTC for transportation to MK and Epcot.

BTW from the TTC you have a choice of taking the Resort monorail or the Express monorail to MK. The Express is far quicker because it doesn't stop at any of the resorts, just goes directly to MK. And as you assume, the Express monorail is faster than the ferry - but we love the ferry and prefer to take it.

We stayed in Pago Pago couple weeks ago and utilized the Ferry more than anything. I felt that it came more often and it also holds way more people. We rarely used the monorail as the lines were always packed. As PP mentioned, the express is faster so keep that in mind.

Thanks all -- do you think that the total time from Tokelau is quicker to MK using the resort launch/water taxi or the TTC ferry?

I think it would be faster via TTC ferry. The walk to that dock is much shorter than to the water taxi dock (and to get to the water taxi, you have to cross through the most crowded part of the Poly resort), and I think the TTC ferry runs more often than the water taxi, especially at park opening time, so your wait time to board is likely shorter. (Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to check which one will be arriving to the respective dock first!) They can run two to four ferries at a time, whereas there's usually only one or two water taxis making the circuit.

The TTC ferry runs almost constantly. If you get unlucky on the MK-GF-Poly route, you could be there a while, or not even get a spot.

I am a Poly veteran, and my opinion is based on walking, security lines, number of stops, stop time, and speed.

Poly (Tokelau) --> MK
1. Monorail from Poly
2. Express Monorail from TTC
3. Ferry Boat from TTC
4. Water Taxi from Poly

MK --> Poly (Tokelau). You will have to investigate the line situation. This list assumes no lines.

For timing, I think ferry and express are about the same. I actually think the ferry can be faster if your timing is lucky. I like the express monorail as an option, but I enjoy the ferry much more than the monorail, so I always go ferry.

The monorail can be really crowded, even at random times. Unless it's closing time, it's pretty much impossible to forced to be crammed next to people on the huge ferry, which I like better.

One thing I don't see mentioned is that when you walk to the TTC for the monorail or Ferry Boat you have to blend into the security line of folks coming from the parking lot/trams. Much of the day that's not an issue but there can be times of day (mainly park opening) where that's a lot of people. It also depends on how many stations they have open. If you walk up right after a full tram unloads, you'll be waiting a bit. That won't cause you any major delays as the lines tend to move quickly, but it's just a lot more other people around than what you would encounter at the Poly monorail station or resort launch, which I find are more pleasant morning options.

I agree with this. The resort monorail from Poly to MK is the quickest transportation option, even with the stop at GF. The monorail security line at poly moves rapidly and usually has a minimal line. Plus, as a bonus, you can enjoy the GCH on the way to the monorail.
