It does except (hopefully) rather than waiting 45 minutes, you could show up 5 minutes before seating opens?

I'm talking about the first (or only) F! of the evening.

Except on astoundingly busy days, very few guests show up 45 minutes before the SEATING opens.

The seating usually opens sometime between 60-75 minutes before show time.

On a "normal" day, figure about 5:30.

As of last week there was no reserved seating and the FP really was worthless. A CM I spoke to even admitted it was a waste. The one for MSEP however was a good one!!

I'll be interested to see if this continues. I went with a fastpass+ for one of our DHS days but if there is no reserved seating it seems like a waste of time. However, I don't want to get rid of it just yet because it could change again by December. And I don't want to book another Fantasmic dining package because we don't like H&V and we've been to Mama Melrose on the last 3 trips. Guess I will just wait and see.

I reserved Fantasmic with FP+ because I don't like the restaurants associated with the dining package. I'm not too picky about seating, as long as it keeps me from having to stand for an hour or longer in line!

That's how I feel too. I don't care exactly where we sit, I just don't want to line up forever to see it. Even the dining package seats weren't fantastic honestly. The best thing about them in my opinion was that they were situated to make a quick escape to get out and to the buses before everyone else.
