Can someone tell me how FastPass+ works for Fantasmic!? Is there a designated area for these guests or can they sit anywhere? How soon before the show does the guest need to show up?

As always, thanks!

There was another thread a few days ago that said that initially the f! fp+ area was reserved and good seats but then it changed sometime last week to just be a shorter version of the regular line and there is no reserved seating. I am hoping this is just part of the testing phase and they will bring back reserved seating as I gave up my f! dining plan adr for the fp+ for 11/10 and now seriously doubt we'll bring our 4yo to f! if there ins't reserved seating. Seems like a waste of a fp+.

Yup.

FP+ for Fantasmic! WITH a Reserved Seating Area is great!

FP+ for Fantasmic! WITHOUT a Reserved Seating Area is worthless!

I respectfully disagree. :goodvibes We had a FP+ for the first show on Oct. 20. While I was disappointed that there was no reserved section, it was still well worth it to not have to stand in line for an hour beforehand. I would use it again in a heartbeat. :thumbsup2

Why would you need to "stand in line" for (the first show of) Fantasmic!

:rotfl:

Sorry, my post-vacation brain lapse is in full effect. I meant I didn't have to get there an hour early to get a good spot. Got 5th row with the FP+. :)

ETA: and the best part of getting there right before the show starts was not having to endure much of the dreadful preshow. Ugh... doing the wave was so much better. :rotfl:

We were there with FP+ Oct 16, and the reserved section was PACKED! We arrived midway between our return window of 6:55-7:15 and were lucky to get 3 seats together. It was squishy!

Now, that was for the unveiling of the glow with the show ears, so maybe it was worse than normal (likely so). The early show was filled to capacity 30 min before the show, so I guess we were lucky to get in at all with our FP+.

Get there at the beginning of your window.

We were there last week. we arrived at 6:15 and got one of the last seats in Pohahontas. If you didn't care where you sat you would have been OK arriving during the window but as things currently stand, I personally wouldn't use the Fantasmic FP+ again.

So now I am confused.... Should we make a Fantasmic dinner reservation or use FP+? Currently we have a FP+ for it but would see if there is a dinner reservation available since we are eating at MM anyway. Our ADR is for 5:00 and our FP+ says to arrive between 5:55 and 6:15. We may be sprinting to F! :cool1:

When were were there last week there was a large section reserved for the Dining Package and it filled very slowly- you could still get a good seat in it at 7:15. I'd keep an eye on reports because it does seem as though they are experimenting with the FP+. If it were me and it stays as it currently is, I'd use the dining package- we'd cancelled ours and I was regretting it! If it switches back to a decent reserved area for FP+ and people are able to get good seats within the window (wasn't happening when we were there!) I'd go with FP+.

That's what we're doing- we have FP+ for our trip in December. I doubt we'll cancel it anyways because I would rather wait in line 30 minutes vs. 60 minutes but it's still in the testing phase so they may just be experimenting with different things now. It could change on a day to day basis.

Getting the Fantasmic dining package was the best use of a TS credit we had last week! You get a ton of food (appetizer, entree, and dessert) AND we strolled into Fantasmic 15 minutes before it started and got a seat about 7 rows back (we could have been closer but chose not to). The section never completely filled, even though the show was standing room only. I was soooo happy we had a truly reserved space! There were several FP+ holders who tried to get into the dining section and were turned away and were told to find a place in the general seating area instead. They weren't too happy. If you're doing Mama Melrose's anyway, you should definitely switch to the Fantasmic package. It seems like with FP+ you may or may not get a reserved section, but with the dining package you'll KNOW that you'll have a good seat waiting for you.

Does anyone know if you can do a dining package and/or FP+ for the SECOND Fantasmic show?

We have a FP+ for one of the second shows during Thanksgiving week. I'm now wondering if this is a smart use of our fast pass picks.

I am rethinking my FP+ for this too. The idea of not waiting in line so long is nice, but do I really want to use a FP with no guarantee of getting a good seat?

I would be willing to bet that they noticed how many were cancelling their F! dining packages in trade for the FP+. Since the dining package brings in money and the FP+ does not it makes sense that they would not want to keep the reserved section. Obviously this is still upsetting to those like myself who want reserved seating but don't want to eat at the F! dining options.

here still a FP+ entrance? If so, I suppose one could get there (the FP+ entrance) right before the CMs begin seating for the show, go in first, and get the best seats at that time???

Which makes the so-called "FastPass+" for Fantasmic! about the same thing as just showing up early for the standby (walk-up) line.

It does except (hopefully) rather than waiting 45 minutes, you could show up 5 minutes before seating opens?

The thing is I called Friday for a Fantasmic Dining Package for just me on Monday, Dec. 2 and all they had was the Brown Derby, so I don't know if people are cancelling. I went ahead and reserved a FP+ for Fantasmic since I don't want to eat at or pay the expense of a Brown Derby package. I plan to ask on here just prior to see if they have improved the FP+ and if not I probably will exchange it for another attraction.

I will be at WDW for 2 days solo before my husband joins me. No one in my family (except me!) likes Fantasmic enough to carve out all that necessary wait time, so I am going to do my best to see it that day. I hope Yensid here :wizard: will help me!!!
