Going to be at rope drop. Just heard from someone that there is a huge crowd that goes through the castle. Is there a faster way?

Go up Main Street to the hub, cross the Fantasyland bridge. Turn left at the Teacups.

Good luck. You are aware that they walk you down Main St. now and CM's guide you back the way you were just told. There's no running, no jumping in front of the CM's at the front. Too many people were basically killing each other in a mad dash for Anna and Elsa w/out a FP, so they changed up the way RD works when you get into the park itself after the train show.

So, we can't go through the castle, even if we wanted? We have to walk they way in the pic with the CM? We were just trying to get a step quicker. Another question, how long with LM be afterwards. Lastly, can we walk the "back way" by the railway from LM to Space M?

what about the wait during evening EMH when MK is open until midnight? does the wait time ever drop? we'll be there during Thursday-Monday over Labor Day weekend. Will there be a better time other than rope drop?

The wait time is just like every other ride closer to park closing, it drops. It won't be a walk on, but you'll find much shorter times late at night vs the morning

We did 7DMT at RD today. The CM'S form a line with a rope and both park openings at the main gate. Then they meet in the middle. They walk the rope all the way down Main st. And nobody is allowed to cross it. One you get past the hub they let you free at the bridge that leads to the tea cups, or you can choose to go through the castle. The cm's direct those going to A&E to follow castle group and 7D group to follow to the bridge. The only way to get. An advantage is to be there wicked early so that you are right behind the moving rope. You're not going to gain any other advantage because they don't allow one. I've always been an RDer and I like what they are doing.

No problem with mermaid. We did 7DMT, PP, WTP, mermaid and splash, all walk on in a row starting at RD. We were 1 row back from the rope.

Pre-park Crystal Palace is ahead of the rope drop crowd, correct? How far into the park can you go before you are stopped?

No, not typically. In the past they had the rope at the hub I think. I'd assume they will keep you back away from the bridge and away from the hub, then you can join in the RD crowd as they pass. Can anyone confirm this??

Which route beats most of 7DMT crowd? Goinf thru castle or by tea cups?

I would guess by the Teacups, then you don't have to deal with the Anna and Elsa crowd and you don't have to loop back past Princess FairyTale hall.

Since you enter the line for 7DMT down towards teacups, I would say that way.

I can confirm the tea cup route to 7DMT is faster. We were in the middle of the rope drop pack but still beat the majority of people coming through the castle.
We also had no problem getting Under the Sea as a 4th+ fastpass even at spring break. At 9:20 in the morning, I'd say there would be little to no wait for Under the Sea.

We were there during 7DMT rope drop during Christmas Week. We got to MK about 45 mins before open. We positioned ourselves near the front of the crowd (so missed seeing the opening show). When the rope drop, we followed the cast member and "walked with a purpose" and were right in front of the pack. As we moved down Main Street, my father fell back as he tends to go at a "strolling pace". My DH fell back with him while I stayed with the kids. Keeping at a brisk walk, we had no real issues staying around the front of the pack. I was a little worried about directions, but when we were there, a CM led us practically right up to the ride.

When we made it to 7DMT, we enough up front that we would easily be on the first train. We moved through most the line but then stopped at a convenient spot, allowing everyone to pass while we waited for my DH and father to catch up. They got there about 5 minutes later and we ended up in a 5 min or so line to get on 7DMT. It moved quickly. When we got off, the wait time sign said there was a 40 minute wait.

My father was a trooper! :) Anyway, all this to say - even with a slower walker who does not push through crowds, 7DMT at rope drop was manageable. Thankfully, he had no issues getting up early to go. If your whole group can brisk walk, we found it very easy to be near the front of the pack.

That all said, we have done the Toy Story dash many times in the past and while it is a bit more crazier, we also found it manageable to be nearer the front of the pack. Plus my family actually gets a big thrill from the craziness. We're weird like that.
