Hello,

I am travelling with Virgin Atlantic to MCO from LGW on March 27th. I am flying Premium Economy. I know that I will not have access to their fast track security as am neither an Upper Class pax (though am flying back upper class) nor a Virgin Holiday pax. I am getting to LGW by The Gatwick Express and travelling first class on the train. I remember a few years ago, that travelling first class on the Gatwick Express you were able to get access to the Fast Track Security at LGW.

Is this still possible? The Gatwick Express web site makes no mention of it.

Secondly - am taking advantage of the twilight check-in the night before and staying at the the LGW Hilton. Rather than have to get up too early, and so I can have a reasonably leisurely breakfast, I was wondering what are the security queues like these days at LGW (South Terminal)?

I hope someone can help with these questions.

Cheers!

We have always had fast track security flying Virgin PE from LGW.

Not sure how long the regular queues are these day but always look bad!!

Many thanks for your replies. So it looks like I will have access to the Fastrack security channel - the gentleman whom I spoke with at the Virgin call centre was unclear on this. As I haven't flown to the States since last summer, I was interested in knowing how the new security measures were impacting on queue times - particularly the checks before one boarded at the gate...from another chat room I got the information that the queue there can be quite long. Thanks once again

We had a fast track security pass for the first Saturday of half term just gone and I expected the queue to be massive for the normal lines (I was looking forward to waving my pass and dodging the line ;) )

Imagine my disappointment after walking across from the Hilton to find only three families in the normal security line ;)

This was the upstairs security which I've heard can be quieter, and it was quite early (08.30) so this might have had an impact.

HTH
