Fast Passes

Just got home today. 2/20/21 from a trip to WDW and while in 2 parks saw people using Fast Passes.
what’s the deal? Not one or two but saw hundreds of peopl with them....someone please tell me what’s up when we have all been told no FP. THANK YOU

FPs are still given out as a form of guest recovery in cases of a ride going down. So if a major ride went down, then everyone on the ride & in line may have gotten the fastpasses.
