Fast Passes shut down

I think some people think they own Disney after buying a ticket.
They expect to be treaded like a royal family and every cm should bow his head in deep respect for them and should scatter red rose leaves on there path through the park. Com on be serious. If the things happened you describe in ANY other park people just would accept it but when the same people are at Disney they get unrealizable desires.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I don't recall insulting anyone.

Without reading back through the whole thread, I *think* you told people they need to get out more. You implied that people here are narrow minded and that they need "broader horizons" like you. That's what I got from some of your posts. Honestly, you don't know what people's horizons are. You don't know how much people get out. You just assume that if they go to Disney a lot, they must not go anywhere else?

I am sorry your vacation is not ideal in every respect. I have been to Disney World several times and honestly, some vacations are more "magical" than others. I would not have liked the trams not operating, and a cold burger IMO is unacceptable. The 40 minute wait because the FP was down was not a big deal IMO. Everyone's different. We're all just giving opinions.

This is really good stuff... "royal family..." "red rose leaves..." "ANY other park..." Once we get a little more of it I'll update the summary of the thread so far.

No, there are no Disney apologists here. It's perfectly reasonable to equate legitimate complaints about missing services and cold food with somebody thinking they're royalty who should be greeted with rose petals. And if I had a dollar for every time I've seen Disers register complaints about other (non-Disney) parks, I'd be a very rich man. Wasn't there a thread complaining about non-Disney parks just yesterday or the day before? I know there was...

People voicing disappointments are labeled habitual complainers, people trying to help set expectations are labeled Disney lemmings. There is no further good that can come of this thread.

I understand your frustration! When we went in March we all had GAD FP's. It was annoying that at many rides at MK we were not able to use them because they did not have the machines open. Yes, the park was not extremely crowded and wait times were not outrageous but I still do not feel we should have had to wait 20 minutes at attractions were our GAD FP should have been good. I could have instead chose to get the free day if I had known in advance they would close not open the FP machines.

Of course Disney has every right to make whatever decision they feel is right but then to have CM's not be honest about it is rude.

Is this the guest assistant with disability pass? (GAD)Have they chaged it to a fast pass since january? Last year I went to customer service and got the guest with disability pass which let us get into attractions without having to wait in crowed lines with other people. ( son with autisim and seizures in wheelcair) Sorry this is off topic but wanted to know for upcoming trip.

You're probably right. It's the good/evil dichotomy... no gray areas.

GAD Fastpass is the "Give A Day" Fastpass, see the link in my signature for more details.

Guest Assistance Cards (GAC) are what you are thinking of. It is NOT an actual Fastpass, but is used to let CMs know of a guest that may require special handling. It does not guarantee front of the line access, but that they will be accommodated as best they can.

(Oooh...I guess questions can still be asked and answered here! :) )

Thanks so much, just wanted to make sure I was up to date on all thats available for my son!:littleangel:

You made me spit coffee on my lap top so thanks.:lmao:
In my country we do have a queen and her royal family witch is costing the taxpayers billions of Euro's per year.
They use OUR money above the billions they get already to fly to Paris or New York to go on shopping trips as exceptional expenses and the best thing they do for there money is cutting ribbons to open a shop.
The most sad thing is there one of the richest families in the whole world but still expect those who live from food banks or in a box on the street to contribute to there wealth.

I love it. "Experts" are called out and they run to the mods to close the boards. I will repeat what I learned from these threads:

1. The official Disney website can be incorrect and/or not up to date. Thus this should not be a reliable source of information.

2. Official printed Disney information guides are printed in advance and should not be relied on.

3. CMs working at any park at any given time may not be informed of the daily activities.

4. Posted attraction times may not be accurate.

5. Wait time apps are also known to not be accurate.

And to summarize Disney has the right to change anything and everything due to the projected revenue for the day. If you have any questions post them on DIS, where the experts will refer you to 1-5 above.

I don't get why the experts are "called out". But your summary is in fact spot on, and has been an increasing problem at Disney. We aren't saying it is right - we are saying it IS. And we've been complaining about it for a long time.

And both sides are calling each other names - that is why I think it should be closed.

Complaining here doesn't help. Send a mail, letter or telegram to Disney:lmao:
And asking for a topic to be closed is only a sign of weakness because some one does not like the replies they get.

I have, many times. It's even worked. Once.

And asking a thread to be closed because it is getting nasty and sarcastic and no longer on topic isn't a "sign of weekness" - it is standard procedure.

You know, I really don't care if it closes or not. I actually haven't called for a moderator to close it. I simply said that no futher good can come from this thread. It is up to the moderators to decide.

I tried to give factual information. No one has disproved any of that information. But apparently I am weak lemming. I'm done here.

I thought I'd brush up your list a little.

2. Official printed Disney information guides are printed in advance and may not have the most relevant information.

3. Your average CM working at any park at any given time may not be informed of all daily activities at any park at any given time.

4. Posted attraction times may not be accurate due to technology limits.

5. Wait time apps, that are not sanctioned by Disney and are based upon user feedback, may be inaccurate.

See? Sounds a lot more reasonable already.

There's a little bit of a negative tone to your list so I thought I'd brush it up a little.

Nice job! Maybe Disney should change its slogan to "The Happiest Place on Earth*"

*Happiness directly related to revenue...*

I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to be condescending. I was, however, trying to make the list a little more realistic. It came off as "disney can't do anything right. see?".

But I have no expectation that any business' employee will be 100% knowledgeable about everything. I also don't expect that every piece of literature, digital or otherwise, will without a doubt be completely accurate. Nor do I expect, for example, when I call a company and I'm given a "five minute estimate" before my call is answered that its exactly five minutes or if I bought a third party product and it didn't work quite how I felt that I'd complain about the original products manufacturer. I guess I have lower expectations for better or worse.

I don't mean to take away from the annoyances or feelings felt by people who have had to deal with this. On the other hand, there are those people who say "no tram? ok" and start walking into the park.. and then there are those who say "no tram? why wasn't i told.. i wouldn't have entered". Can't please everyone.

It's not a matter of pleasing everyone, it's a matter of providing correct information so a consumer can make an informed decision.

If FP won't be working, maybe I don't want to enter the park that day
If the parade on the time guide is wrong, I might leave the park earlier
If I can't get a hot burger I won't eat there
And if there is no tram and perhaps I need an ECV and cannot walk, well I should get my $14 back.

Now this is funny!!!! Good one!!! Unfortunately it is becoming truer by the day!:rotfl2:

Wow Disney apologist are out in FULL FORCE! LOL!

I would like to know why the TRAMS were not functioning per another posters' complaint.

Thanks
Brunette
