Fast Passes for Extra Person

I currently have one room booked at POP century for 3 adults and 1 child. So we have an extra $10 per night fee. Now we are adding another person to the trip. So we will get a 2nd room. To avoid the extra fee now as we will not have three adults in the original room I have to drop the person from original reservation. This will mean loosing those FP. I can then hope to get them back on new reservation. We are 50 days out. How hard will it be to get 7 dwarfs and other biggies for two people? Don't want to pay extra $50 since we are paying for another room but don't want to give up fast passes.

Aren't you going to have FP issues regardless if you want to ride stuff with your additional person?

Do you have park tickets through your resort package? Or were they purchased separately? Fast passes are associated with tickets, not a resort reservation. The only thing affected by the resort stay is the window. Yes, that will likely still be an issue, since you are at 50 days, but it might be that the person being switched may be able to keep what he or she has. As mom2rtk mentioned, won't you want to add FP for the extra person, too?

Did you use a TA? If so, have him or her handle it. If not, when you call to make the change, ask how you can keep that guest's FP when the reservation is modified.

Have you tried calling to book the extra room? You aren't cancelling the reservation so I would think that you should be fine with the current FP's. I would definitely call to book the extra room first and then see about moving the extra adult over to the new room and hopefully doing so would keep everything the same. It is pretty easy to get a FP for one person to coincide with your times, two people should be pretty easy as well. The times won't be exact, but I am sure you can get them pretty close.

You should be fine. I would book the extra room first with both adults and make sure the tickets are linked in MDE, then take that extra adult off the first package. FP+ aren't linked to hotel reservations, they are linked to tickets, so as long as the person has tickets in MDE, you shouldn't lose the FP+. If you run into trouble, call WDW IT and they should be able to help.

As long as the 2nd reservation is made within a day of changing Reservation #1, the FPs remain intact.

Be sure that the names for Reservation #2 matches with the one name from Reservation #1 and everything will correctly link up.

Go to each FP reservation and "Change Party" to attempt to add that 1 new member of your group.

Thanks for the advice. I know I may still have issues with the one new person but I thought get FP for one will be easier than two. I spent 2 hours on the phone last night trying to do this. Getting bounced around. Everyone said I had to drop the person and hence fast passed and hope for the best. I will try to call again today.

FPs actually remain for 1.5 days when a ticket is removed from the Profile.

As @Marthasor suggested, booking #2 and then Canceling that one person from #1 is a very safe way of changing out the names on the Reservations.

We are 30 days out and added 1 person to our party of 13 yesterday. We were able to get every FP for her that we already had scheduled except for 1 - Avatar Flight of Passage. We used the "Change Party" listed above. We even got Frozen Ever After and 7 Dwarfs. You'll be fine!

Also, I'd call to book the 2nd room then they can move the 3rd person to the new room for you. We've been moving people around in our 4 rooms for 6 months!

This is great information. I knew someone on here would know how to do this. Now I just want to make sure I have the mechanics correct. I book a new reservation for myself and the new person with tickets included. After that is done I drop myself from the original reservation. Once that is done my FP will automatically be in my new reservation? Do I do this in one MDE account or two? Thanks so much!

Use 1 MDE account as that is where your Profile is located and your data is stored there.

Your FPs remain linked to your Profile line.

Thanks for everyone's help. It worked as you stated. I was able to get FP to match for the extra person except 7 dwarfs. But I still have 50 days to hopefully get it moved up to the same time as the rest of them.

Thanks for letting us know! :)

When searching for 7D for your friend, look for an overlapping return time. You may be able to find something with an overlap. Your window actually opens 5 minutes before the stated time and closes 15 minutes after the ending time. Good luck!
