Fast passes and staying off site? (seach is disabled!)

I am sitting here trying to plan out Fall trip and running numbers of on site vs off site. We have done both, and go yearly, so sometimes it just comes down to the math. Well, this whole magic bands thing has thrown a new curve in it all. Admittedly, I have not done much research on the Magic Bands or FP+ and...search is disabled right now... Can anyone explain the perks to me of staying on site vs off in regards to Magic Band and FP+ ? Are you basically SOL if you stay offsite in regards to getting FP?

Onsite:
- Can reserve FP up to 60 days in advance (although most find that a week in advance is plenty), for all your ticket days.
- You also receive Magic Bands, which will open your room, allow you to charge purchases/meals.
- Scan MB at entrance turnstile and FP entrance point.
- Change FP selections at in-park kiosk (same day) or on smartphone (any day).

Offsite:
- Can select FP at an in-park kiosk only, on the day of your visit to that park.
- Cannot select your "next day's" FP at the in-park kiosk, even if it's the same park.
- Scan tickets at entrance turnstile, FP kiosk, and FP entrance point.
- Change FP selections at in-park kiosk only (smartphone is view-only).

I'm currently staying off site and was invited to test FP+. I would be pretty surprised if it's not rolled out to everyone by then. That's a long time away.

There have been a few posts if you create an account on MDE, link your park tickets and have a ADR, you can book FP+.

Not sure if it's 60 in advance......and not sure if the ADR has to be your first day or any day in the length of your ticket.
