Hi all... first off I'll start by saying I'm new here so please be gentle ;)

I haven't been to Disney since 1999 or something like that. Any who Me my BF and his two kids (ages 12 and 11) are going in July. I've heard mention of the fast pass but really don't know what it is. Can some one please explain.. also I was thinking of bringing a back pack with me to hold things through out the day (ie camera and stuff bought at the shops) would this be ok? I had some one tell me I wouldn't be able to get on rides with it..... ???

Thanks so much!!! ::MinnieMo

we use waistpacks and carry a small backpack...no problems at all

fastpasses are at all the bigger rides...you goto the kiosk, stick your ticket in and out spits a pass with an hour time slot on it. You come back to that ride in that hour timeframe and you basically get in to go near the front of the line no matter how long the regular line is. You can only hold one fastpass at a time....usually if your one fastpass says something like 1:10 to 2:10...you cannot pull another fastpass for any ride until after 1:10

great thanks so much...

any other tips and/or tricks anyone could provide would be much appreicated

if you are early risers....goto the park for the opening and hit as many rides as you can....then take a break after lunch and come back in the evening....IMO, that is the best way to deal with the crowds....and we can get on most of the big rides at any park in that first hour (at MK we get thru all of fantasyland in the first hour)

just so happens we are early risers :) What time does the park open? (sorry for all the questions)

you have to read the times when you get there

parks usually open at 9 (waterparks at 10) but they have EMH times during the week in which different parks open an hour early on different days. that early hour is like having the park to yourself, but those also seem to be the days that get more crowded later on

my other advice is have a loose gameplan (which park on which day of your trip) and make some priority seatings for restaurants...otherwise you will have a hard time getting in the door of a sitdown restaurant and be at the mercy of counter service
