What don't you understand exactly? Fastpasses are available for some rides, not all. Go to a ride that has them, like Space Mountian. You go to the machines near the ride and put in your entry ticket. It then gives you a FP ticket. You can then come back to ride anytime after the first time given on the ticket. It might say the return time is 2pm for example. You can return to SP at that time. On the bottom is another time that says when you can get your next FP. It is good to always get FPs as soon as the time allows you. Don't wait in lines for 45 min to an hour, when you can get FPs. You can collect them all day. We went during a very busy time this summer but never waited for longer than 15 min for a ride by getting to the park early and getting FPs all day.

Well I get most of it I guess..

So I scan my tickets and get fastpass's it says come back at 3:00 now do I have to be there right then or does the "come back time" just the soonest you can come? and if I show up at 6:00 it wont matter.

On the bottom where you said it says " On the bottom is another time that says when you can get your next FP. " Is that for any ride.. or just the ride you are at currently get your FP?

It will say the return time is for example 3pm-4pm. You cannot come back before 3pm. You can come back at 6pm. Technically, they ask you to return during that time but we never had a CM turn us away when we used them hours later. They just check the first time.

The time at the bottom that says when you can get your next FP is for any ride with a FP. It is usually two hours, but if the return time on your ticket is for an hour later, then that will be the time you can get your next FP.

DL and DCA are not connected so you can get a FP for Space and then run over and get one for Soarin right after. Also, Roger Rabbit in DL is not connected and you can get one for that one right after one for another ride. :)

AWESOME! Thanks PinkBudgie I totally get it now!

:thumbsup2 Great! The CMs there will also help you if you have trouble with it. There are usually some around the FP machines.

Get up early enough and get to the park, once the park opens for the public the fast pass machines are turned on, grab one for a ride ( usually the one your closest to like if your in fantasyland you could grab one for space mountain, then when that fast pass time is up grab another and go on some other ride. see the times run ourt fast during the morning so you can get several even before noon. Then when the park gets super busy you will have fast passes to the rides and you can just go on with out hardly any wait at all! you can use them all day, even it the time is way past the time on the fast pass. we plan to gather all tomorrowland fast passes thru out the day so we can spend our time there at night while the fire works are going off. that way we are out of the way of the crowds of fantasmic and fire works, and can get on the rides with ease.
in a good day you can collect fast passes for every ride that has fast pass, making it easy to ride all of them before park closes. don't over do it, if your there 5 days or more you can get all of it done.
in the afternoon take a break and go swim, come back and watch a show or use your fast passes and go on the rides.
we plan to gather all fast passes, use them in the evenings and do shows in DCA afternoons after we take a break and go swim. the parks are pretty low crowds in the morning, you will get a lot done then, but by noon the parks will get packed, now is the time to make reservations for a wonderful sit down meal ( using vouchers and you can use as many as you like at this time) and enjoy a wonderful lunch. then head out to swim or nap.

Oh, some further info.

Space and Indy FPs go pretty fast. Buzz FPs can always get gotten later in the day. Splash goes quick too if it is hot. So, I would get those first. Get Soarin FP as soon as you get over to DCA. Those go quick too.

I did not author this next thread, but I reference it in so many of my other tips that I decided to include it here. It is a sticky thread on MiceChat, and is kept up to date by the author, Darkbeer. It is the Bible of FASTPASS.

I'm more of a "tell me the optimum FP pick up order & I'll figure out why as i read the threads & posts" kind of guy. If you're that kind of person then:

(Assuming an 8am opening)

- At the DL security desk at 7:25 & at the DL turnstile at 7:31
- SM at 8:03
- Indy at 8:50ish
- Splash at 9:40ish
- BTMRR at 10:40ish (& maybe Roger Rabbit also since it's disconnected)

- hop to DCA
- Soarin' at 10:50ish
- Screamin'/Griz Rapids/or ToT at noonish.

Meal/Mid day break etc.

- Screamin/Griz/or ToT at 1:45-2ish.

- Hop back over to DL between 4 - 6pm
- Buzz (or a second SM or BTMRR...or maybe even Autopia)

Enjoy DL in the evening w/o lines with the 5-6 FPs in your pocket. :thumbsup2

(note - others may have a slightly different order, but the strategy & most of the FP pickup order would be similar.)

Awesome thanks! Mine will have to differ slightly.. apparently SM is closed when we go, and DD is not tall enough to go on Indy or Screamin. I think she is tall enough for everything else :)

Not sure how many are in your group, but also keep in mind that you can still use your daughter's ticket to get an extra FP.

I was going to mention this. We had 5 in our party and always got 5 FP's. That allowed our 8 year old to go on IJ a total of 4 times - twice with my DH and twice with me. And the 5 FP's that we got for Soarin came in handy, since my 5 year old liked it so much that he rode twice back to back - once with my husband and once with me and my 8 year old. If you don't use them, you can give them to someone in the Standby line. I'd consider that good Disney karma. :)

Too bad about SM. :(

And the "optimum" part of the FP order is that SM & Indy (& Splash) go first (& the time to come back starts spreading out on them)...thus one should nab them first if inclined. But if you don't need or want them, it makes it easier...just move the others on up. :)

& Screamin' is a great single rider ride. I call it the Screamin' shuffle. One parent & kid ride Triton's carousel next door while the other adult single rides Screamin'....then switch out so the other adult rides Screamin'.

Also remember, if your group splits up, to give them their FP. We had my dad get ours for Indys, forgot about it, split up, and we didnt have ours. I also tried to use my FP in the security line at SNA, the security guys got a kick out of it! I was all "Heres my fast pass, can I skip ahead of the line?" they laughed
