fast pass - settle an argument please

My partner ( who's never been to Florida but has been to DLP) is adamant that we can buy a fastpass ticket for disney( similar to the universal tickets when staying onsite) I know you can get free fastpass tickets from the kiosks for individual rides but CAN you buy these tickets???? :

no. the only fast passes are the ones distributed outside of certain attractions. you use your park ticket to get one of these and are allocated a time to return

No currently the Disney Fastpass system is free to all ticket holders.

Nothing to say that wont change in the future...

Disney has been trialling a new system called Fastpass+ which will allow guests to secure their ride slots in advance of their vacation similar I think to advance dinning reservations.

Disney tested the system last year in the Magic Kingdom theme park and the next test will be later this month for guest checking into AKL and the Contemporary.

You say your partner has been to DLP - thats probably where they have got the info about buying the FP as it is possible to buy a VIP FP there to use for the day. They are very expensive there though and imo not worth the money.
