Fast Pass runner strategy

Hello there,

That sounds like an awesome idea, but I thought you couldn't get another fast pass until the time was up on the current fast pass you are holding??? Am I wrong, I hope so?
I am leaving in 22 days with 6 other people and this would be a great strtegy...b/c I love to run and I will do wahtever I can so they can see everything......thanks for sharing ;)

You can get another fp as soon as the "window to ride" opens on a fp your currently holding or as soon as 2 hours after you get the fp whichever is sooner. So if you have a fp for Space Mtn with a return time of 1-2pm you can get another at 1pm even if you haven't ridden space mtn yet. On busy days if your return is several hours away you can get one 2 hours after you got it. They now have the time you can get a new fp on the bottom of the pass to make it easier. Just check your times when getting the fp and then grab another asap.

An example from above would be getting another fp say for Buzz at 1:05 and then returning to space mountain using the fp.

Ok - hope that's clear and if not I know someone will clarify better!!

I am the runner in my family of 6. The rest of them will get in line
for another ride and I will go get fast passes. Or they will go to lunch and order me mine and it will be there waiting for me when i come back.

I am planning to be the FP Runner in my next trip, because I don't expect my DS3 and DD5 to walk fast.

So, FP Runners, what is your record number of FP's gotten in 1 day at MK?

I am planning to do Extra Magic Hour in MK in my upcoming trip. We will do Fantasyland first. What would be your strategy?

One extra tip for using this strategy...don't let a CM see you because it is supposed to be 1person=1ticket at the fastpass machine. Several times on our trip last week I noticed people getting "caught" trying to getting fastpasses for several tickets at one time, and then not being allowed to.

That would really be a bummer. We do this because I am usually pushing DD in a stroller, so rather than push her into a congested area, DH goes to get the FP's.

I'm sorry -- but that's one of the dumbest things I have heard in a while. Typically, each member of a party using FP is going to get a FP, so what difference does it make on which body retrives them????

Yeah, I've been trying to understand the reasoning behind this as well. And I can't figure it out. But that's what I saw, and I saw it about three times one day at the MK. It was a very busy day there, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it or what?

Everything is correct except the part about every member of the party must get their own FASTPASS. Guests are encouraged to send one person with all the tickets to the machines to reduce congestion, especially on busy days. Tickets must be validated by the park entrance turnstiles.

Ok.. so how would all you type A's suggest that I work the fastpass method when it's just me and my 9 year old son? Obviously, we wouldn't separate so we would both have to work the system somehow... but we're both type A's and in good shape and can both get the move on.... can you give me an idea of what rides are near each other so we can try to juggle it somehow???

Yes - I started an awesome thread! And I love being the fast pass runner. (My family + 1 friend (6 all together) loved it too.)

Yes I am for hire - all you have to do is pay for me to go to Disney - food, transportation, lodging and tickets - on second thought my wife might not go for that .. lol.

I can't give you a whole strategy for MK you kind of have to just think ahead as to where you want to go next. And then have one person take all the tickets and go ahead. (That one for one thing doesn't sound right - I had five tickets at Medevial Whirl - the machine stopped working and the CM was like here are 2 more tickets he used a key (I had got three tickets all ready). The CMs I think like having just one person there.)

As for best moments though, it involved like previous person said combining FAST PASS with BABY SWAP. Here's what happened:

My family went to lunch at Liberty Tree. I got fast passes for Splash Moutain at 12:30 - 1:30. We ate, got a baby swap at Splash Moutain. And also got Fast passes for Big Thunder Railroad that were for 1:55 - 2:55.

First ride at Splash Moutain 1:00 no wait.
Second ride at Splash Moutain 1:20 no wait. (Bought a picture)
Big Thunder at 1:55 no wait. (Got baby swap)
Second ride at Big Thunder 2:00.
(Only me and my daughter rode each one twice, once was enough for the others. We loved it.)

Within an hour we rode Splash Moutain and Big Thunder not once but twice. Also purchase a picture on Splash Moutain. And my daughter played in the little playground for a while too.

The stand-by line for Splash Moutain said 90 minutes or something like that. (I felt bad for those people I really did.)

Working the system, in a relaxing way, really I didn't "run" just walked faster,

Dave

My hubby is the fastpass runner for us. He drives an ECV in the parks. I am a smoker, so while I'm sitting in the designated smoking area, he scoots off to the next fastpass machine and picks them up for us.

Occasionally, I'll get to ride the scooter while the family is getting lunch or a snack and go get a fastpass. He occassionally likes to stand up cause sitting in that scooter all day makes him a little stiff. :-)

I have always referred to myself as the "advance team"

I not only get all of the fastpasses for the group, I also save places for parades while DH takes 3 DS's to the men's room, and go for snacks once they are settled in.

The system works great!

I just can't figure out why others do not use this same strategy when possible. Why should the entire family trek over to a place and then have to walk together over to someplace else? Everyone has seen these families too - they are the ones who insist on walking 4 - 5 across at a funeral march pace. Whenever your group can multi-task, they should! Why should you have to wait around when you could be getting a FP or getting a good spot for the parade? To me, its just a smart stratgey
