This was our first trip to the world since they began enforcing fast pass return times.
I am wondering how others feel about it.
Please leave any comments as to why you feel the way you do.

We had quite a few FP's go unused due to one thing or another and woud like to know how others are planning within the 1 hr time period to return. For us, it really wasn't enough time to do much else (family of 4 kids 6 & 8). At least nothing productive.
:goodvibes

Don't like it - I am no spring chicken so the extra walking to criss cross a park to return to use FP will give me even more blisters than I usually have after a week at WDW

I always followed the time on the ticket anyway so it's the same for us. If we couldn't make the time, we'd give them away to someone who could.

Our first time with the new rule will be next week. I'll report back.. but I do not relish all the extra walking, criss corssing, and then get ther only to find out that the return time won't work . can't get an "APP" as, sorry, not everyone had a "smart phone" I have a cheapo pay-as-you-go phone for necessities.
so much for the fast pass time enforcers philosophy that it will be "fair to everyone" . only if you have an "app" to tell you which ride to run to!!!
another problem a expect is that (a lot of you already know), we used to get there at rope drop to minimize waits. but we cannot do any of the dark rides at that time since hubby has low vision. we have to do the dark rides at night, so his eyes will have already adjusted to the dark, and he can actually see in the ride. so we would grab fast passes for those rides, to do after dark. did not hurt anyone. oh well. we'll have to see hopw this works. If lines are long later for these rides, we may just choose to forgo them.

I'm indifferent to it really. Like a PP, we would just give away passes if we couldn't get to them. It's nice to see people's eyes light up.

~I have nothing planned, after we pull a FP we'll immediately venture over to the area of our next Fastpass attraction and pull a FP as soon as our return window opens, then we will head back to use our current FP, this is our strategy for this trip. I expect to criss cross the parks a lot and we will try to squeeze in any walk on rides and take in the "sights and sounds" along the way, if possible. We'll knock out all of the main attractions in the morning and just tour at our leisure and go with the flow at night. Thanks so much for the update! :goodvibes

yeah, we would always do the same with any "collected" fast passes we didn't use. people loved it!

oh except you always got a few who would shy away and ask how much we wanted for them!

Our next trip is in November, and I am very curious to how this will work for us. We didn't "hoard" fast passes, but if our window was up for a ride and we were on the other side of the park, we wouldn't rush back to it. We would make our way back to it as to minimize walking back and forth and back and forth across a park. One question I do have, is can you technically still hold more than one fast pass at one time? For example, if I grab one at 9 a.m. for TSM that expires at 12 p.m., can you still get another one at 11 a.m., two hours after your grabbed your first one? I appreciate everyone's comments and look forward to reading more. I think we will just have to see how it goes and plan our touring plans around it. On our next trip we are staying offsite for the first time and just going to MK and Epcot, as well as taking in some other sites around Orlando.
TIA!

Like it but I am go with the flow kind of girl , If we don't get on a ride no bid deal If I cant get in a restaurant no big deal. I have made ADR's days before our trip never had a problem and we don't do rope drop we are more late night 3 am kind of people my kids are older 21,20 and 17 so get them up at 6 am not going to happen lol so FP time no bid deal we always did them on time anyways

I don't like it, and for purely selfish reasons. I kind of like the idea of having some flexibility of when to get back to a ride, particularly as a soon to be first-timer, who's likely to have about a three year dry spell before a second trip. And I REFUSE to discuss how late FP use may or may not have on lines.

We haven't been since the rules have changed. We have used FP every way- within the hour, shortly after the hour, and many hours later. We didn't abuse the system, but we did what worked for us. We were able to have the most pleasant vacation. Grabbing a FP for Soarin' and then starting around World Showcase without having to rush back to Soarin' the minute we hit Morocco. There were other times when it was easy and convenient to get back on time. But- we were able to do what we wanted. Now we will be limited to a smaller vicinity around the attraction. It definitely adds another bonus point to Disneyland for us- you can still tour as you please and use the FP late if needed!

The only issue is that if you get a FP then get in line for say Peter Pan, the line goes really slow and you come out after the allotted time. I guess we'll really have to plan our days a bit better

Yes. No change in this respect.

Having used the no end system in the past, I found it handy, but during my trip a couple of weeks ago I managed to use FP for every attraction that I planned too. It didn't really cost me much more in the line of walking except when I didn't check out what conflicted with my FP times. When I did, nothing was different except when I returned to them. No big deal, just requires a little thought and minor on the spot planning.:confused3

When I had one that conflicted with other plans, meals, shows or whatever, I just returned, briefly to the FP kiosk and swapped for later ones. Took a couple of minutes and other than that no real hassle. I'm fine with it.:cool2:

Don't care. We never used them outside the window so it has no impact on us. If they went back to allowing them to be used after the window we would continue to use them during the printed window. It's how we prefer to roll. Works out well for us.

I totally get why some are hating it. I'd be bummed too if it affected my touring style.

I posted this poll to hopefully learn a better strategy for our upcoming trip in Sept. I didn't want to come off negative, but we I really feel that we were much more focused on time than I like to be during vacation.
Example. We got a fp for the safari in AK, then planned to do Rafiki's Planet watch and do the safari on the return. Our FP was for a sooner time than we had hoped, so we were quite rushed at rafikis. For the first time we saw a show in the little theater but had to forefit a pic with rafiki and petting zoo time since our fp time was coming up and didn't know exactly when we would get a train back. Also, it was close to earth day and tehre were many more exhibits inside than we were use to that we missed.
My point, there are too many variables, out of our own control that can cause you to be late for the small window of 1 hr. Maybe two would be better??? :confused3

Rides stopping caused me stress, concern a line was taking longer than posted did also. It made me feel like the wait time was longer because I kept checking the time.

As I said in my post, there was little I could do in the amount of time I had between gettting the fp and the retrun time. I used to be able to take a fast pass when it was close to a dinner ressie, know I don't because I lose that fp if I dont make it and can't take another if I have it. ugh :scared1:

The wait times for fp seemed no shorter than any other visit and they still were all gone just as quickly so I have yet to see a benefit personally.

Hmmm...don't "Like". My main concern..possible conflicts with ADRs, so we didn't book any. I doubt, Disney will miss my $$$$..just a couple TS per day. Although, it's saving me $400-$500 per day.;)
