fast pass question?

I've read and read about fast passes but am still a little confused. Do we first thing in the morning go around to ALL of the fast pass attractions we want to see and collect our fast passes?

For instance, we want to do: PeterPan, Winnie the Pooh, Philharmagic, Haunted Mansion, Buzz Lightyear and Space Mtn (all fast pass attractions).
I'm just confused how to schedule these with return times staggered vs having to return to everything at the SAME time. So, how do you schedule it to where you see one 1st, the next one 2nd and so on and so forth. (See, I told you I don't understand this!)

Also, do you have to get a fast pass for every single person with their individual ticket? Or can one person run get the fast passes with just his/her ticket?

Someone please clarify this please!

PS: Will Cinderellabration be a fast pass show too??

You need a FP for every person. The FP computer will allow only one FP at a time, per ticket. It will allow you to get another after the time of the previous FP or after 2 hours or so.

Something like that. :)

But, no, you can't go first thing and collect them for the day.

Here is a good FAQ about the FP system: http://www.passporter.com/wdw/fastpassinfo.htm

No - generally speaking you can only have one FP at a time. There are exceptions but its a good rule of thumb.

In your example I would get to the park, get a FP for WtP- it will be clearly marked as to what your ride window is and when you can get another FP. Then ride Peter Pan and probably Snow White using standby. After that you shoud be able to use your WtP Fast Pass. Then head to Tomorrowland and get your FP for either Buzz or Space and ride the other and the TTA using the standby line while waiting for your return window. We find using a combo of FP and standby works best and prevents backtracking.

Each person does need a FP so you will need to insert all the tickets to get the FP's. The attractions are clearly marked as to when your return time will be so you can check before you get the FP. You can also determine when you will be able to get another FP. It Usually 5 minutes after your return time starts or 2 hours, whichever comes first. Again there are exceptions but I am trying to keep it simple!

If you are unsure of anything CM's are available at all the FP machines to help you. It is really not complicated, just hard to explaine in wiriting!

The site in the previous reply does a pretty good job. The one thing it doesn't answer well is the above question. Yes, you need to get a FP for each person with each persons ticket. However, one person can run and get the FP for a group.

We did this ALOT on our last trip. While most of the family was in line for pictures and autographs - one person would run and get FPs for the group for a nearby ride. (Just make sure its someone you can trust not to lose all your tickets :earseek: )

Enjoy.. And don't be afraid to ask a CM how it works if your confused or have questions.. Theres usually someone near the FP machines - and these are there for a reason - they WORK!

(Edit: Oops same answers at the same time as another poster...but still good advice)

So it's like making "reservations" for a ride but you can only make a "reservation" 1-2 hours in advance (?) Am I getting this right?

No, when you go to the FP Distribution, there will be a time displayed above. This is the hour window that your ticket will display. This is when you can come back and ride the ride (or at least get in the FP line). On busy days, this window can be hours away. Usually, the window is within an hour of when you get the ticket.

Look at it as if you are waiting in line, without having to stand there.

Yeah, it's kinda like you're "pretending" to stand in line, except the line is like as long as it would be if everyone who got a FP was also standing in line. That's why at times your "time" on the FP may be hours later- and that's why sometimes a ride can run out of Fastpasses -no more available for that day. I've only had that happen a couple of times- and it's a bummer. So forewarned is forearmed. LOL

When we went in Dec, we didn't use the FP that much. But I was a bit confused about how it worked. We went to the most popular ride first for example, in AK straight to the KMJ safari ride to get a FP. What I didn't realize is that you do need a ticket for each pass you need. Well, I didn't have my Mom's ticket so I just asked the CM standing there helping people what I should do and he put his magic card in the machine and printed me out the number of passed I needed. So don't be afraid to ask for help, they are very accomidating. We never even needed the passes, which was kind of a bummer. When we went to get on the ride, the lines were so short we actually had to wait for the regular line riders to board first! How's that for a "FAST" pass? Too funny.

just a quick answer to the OP's question about Cinderellabration. this will be a show in front of the Castle. it is sort of just a "crowd around the vacinity of the front of the castle" thing. Get there a bit early (depends on the crowd levels for the time of year you will be visiting) and scope out a spot near the castle, but not too close. the action will be on the upper level. if you are too close, you won't be able to see over the 2nd level railings to the action.

Stick around after it is over though, tsome of the characters involved in Cinderellabration will make their way down the "ramps" leading up to the upper level of the castle area. they will hang out there for autographs and pictures. a nice opertunity to see some characters that might be hard to find otherwise.

not something that will be fastpassed.

That 's great info about Cinderellabration. Sounds fabulous! Would you happen to know the days and times it will be running? We're going to be there around June 20th.
