We are booked at the Dolphin. We have two rooms. Both rooms are under my name. So, in my Disney experience my name is listed twice. Once under both rooms. Therefore, one of my kids is not listed.

Will this cause a problem in anyway at the parks or our resort etc?

Will this create a problem when I go to book my fast passes tomorrow?

The biggest problem I can see is that one of the kids is not listed and each name can only be associated with 1 set of FPs.

I did call. This was the second time I called. I got a much better person, as far as I know, to answer my questions.

She seemed confident in her answer. She said, no the room reservation will not effect the fast passes. Only the Disney entrance cards. I hadn't put them in yet because I did not want to compound any problems. She then gave me all the instructions. The Disney passes will be assigned names that I have in mde and I will be able to assign them all! :goodvibes

Thanks everyone! I did not want any errors!

For the purpose of advance FP+ booking, the Swan/Dolphin are treated as on-site resorts and get the 60 day booking window. The one child not listed on either of the room reservations in MDE will not be eligible for the 60 day advance FP+ booking window. You will not be able to make FP+ selections for him/her until 30 days from the day of use.

Hi!
This has been our experience -
If you booked your reservation with the Dolphin, have them (the Dolphin reservation folks) go into the system and make sure that a child is listed on the reservation too (shouldn't matter which one). It doesn't matter if your name is the only name listed - but the reservation should note as "MR SMITH" + 3 adults, 2 children. It's the quantity that matters.

Then, when you go to link the reservation throughout MDE, it picks up on the number in the party and you can assign other people to the reservation (allowing your child to then be able to book FP+ at the 60 day mark with you).

It does take 24 hours for the Disney system to sync with the Dolphin (based on previous experience).

If you booked the reservation direct through Disney - sorry, I have no advice :(

I am a bit confused. The Disney rep said the reservation "names" has nothing to do with the fast pass. But like the person below you said the reservation is listed in each room correctly 2 Adults and 3 children and 2 Adults and 2 children and 1 infant. The Dolphin said this is all that matters is that this is listed correctly. And it is. Disney said that too. What I was saying is my name is listed as the adult on both rooms and I can not change that. Disney can not change that. Only the Dolphin can change that. So I asked Disney if I needed to call the Dolphin and have one of the rooms changed and listed as reserved under my husbands name so my name did not come up twice, once in each room. Disney said no. It is the Disney tickets (cards) that matters. Those are what you create the fast passes from. My people listed in MDE already add up to what the person under you is talking about - 2 adults 3 children and the make up of the other room.

Are you saying you think there is still a problem?

Yes, that is how it is. It says my full name on each reservation, but exactly how many adults and children and infants are in each room reservation. I was only saying when it shows up in MDE my name automatically counts as one adult in the party. (on each reservation) So where my name was listed on each name, it will not let me change my name or edit it. Disney said only the Dolphin can do that, but it is not needed.

Is this right?

I do not want errors!:(

I don't think I am understanding completely.
Your name is not changeable - that's right. But you should be able to "assign" the other people staying in the room to the reservation through MDE. (Each person needs to be entered as a friend or family first with your MDE)
Were you able to do that? Also, have you linked your park tickets on MDE yet? You will need to do that for FP+. Does that make sense?

I just got off the phone with Dolphin reservations and before that Disney. I decided to call again, because of what the two of you have said.

First off to answer your questions. Yes I origionally entered everyone into my MDE. That is all great. The problem is with how the Dolphin is linking the reservation. Or should I say how the Dolphin does their reservations is going to change. I would think more to how Disney does there reservation, because it has to match their system to link in correctly with MDE so they can read it right.

When my dolphin reservation linked to MDE it came up with one blue uneditable name - mine! and said adult beside it. It then listed 4 gray boxes with adult or children by what the dolphin had keyed into the reservation. They keyed in to each reservation, I have two rooms, 2 adults and 3 children. So I entered one room. I put the other reservation number in and it did the same exact thing, so therefore I could not enter one adult to my reservation. Because the one blue box comes up with my name and is uneditable. The Dolphin did not care to have names. They have my name and how many adults and how many children are in each room and that is all they wanted. I was confused, because Disney always asks for names and birthdates. They said we don't care about all of that. The origional reservation and when I called the first time to ask about it.

Tonight after I called Disney and they said what I had to do I called the Dolphin, but because it is after hours it kicked me into Starwoods reservation system. They said what is My Disney Experience, is it points? Then after explaining everything he said you need to call the Dolphin directly tomorrow during business hours.

So back to Disney and what they said tonight. This time I asked for MDE and it sent me to the help desk. I told him what happened and he said could you hold please. He had to talk to the team. He came back on and said I am sorry for the wait you are the first guest I have had that has actually been able to link the Dolphin reservations to our system. (MDE) We knew it was coming, but we didn't know when. I needed to talk to the team to find out what to do. He told me what to do (which is calling the Dolphin...) Then to call him back and they would do their end it would all be fixed.

He said there is two problems.

# 1 if this doesn't get fixed your daughter will not be able to book fp until 30 days out because our system does not recognize her as a guest staying at the Dolphin.

#2 If this doesn't get fixed now then if the Dolphin gets magic bands before your stay there will be a bigger problem and we are the only ones that is going to be able to fix it. Either now or in the park when you get here. The Dolphin will be calling us to get this straightened out.

I find this all like a double edged sword. On one side, exciting that we are on the cutting edge of new, exciting changes. On the flip side, why am I the one who is blazing the trail with this new technology?

Just pray that I will be able to talk to someone at the Dolphin that knows what they are doing and not just change my reservation from my name to my daughters name! Because that is all they seem to see on their end. I might ask if the Dolphin can just call Disney and get ahold of this specific department. He took notes for my account and is hoping I can get through to him tomorrow so this can all be resolved.

I've stayed at Swan/Dolphin four times this year and they all worked this way for me, too.

I have finally figured the problem.

The way the Dolphin does it works fine for "one" room but not two rooms. :sad2:

You guys keep saying it doesn't matter the names, but Disney is saying it does. When I show up in their system on both reservations and am uneditable to me or Disney, I am then a duplicate in Disney's system. Disney's system will not let me enter my last adult on MDE's side. (because I am automatically entered twice) They keep saying only the Dolphin can change it. I have also figured out that tonight I was thrown into Starwoods reservation system when I called the Dolphin directly, because it is after Dolphins hours. And this also probably why two weeks ago when I called the Dolphin the reservation agent didn't seem to care, because she probably didn't even know what I was talking about.

Are you saying you have been linked to MDE with Dolphin 4 times this year? Did you ever have two rooms?

Hi!

:(

The problem is my name shows up on the second reservation too!! It will not let me change my name to add the last adult in our party which is my daughter. It could have been my husband, but I put his name in the first reservation room.

I think I understand now. Can you just ask the Dolphin to "add" another person (quantity wise )to the one room reservation so that the additional spot can be your daughters?(since the spot that technically is hers is being assigned to your husband and you can't change it?)

Then everyone will be in the system and linked the right way. Really it's only with the FP+ scheduling that you will run into problems (30 day vs 60 day) and you have to decide if it's worth all this hassle to "fix it". :) I feel your pain and I had to work with The Dolphin folks a couple times to help with our reservations on two separate trips. They were very patient and kind so maybe worth one more call. Good Luck!!
