Exactly. FP+ is what exists now, and a poll like this isn't going to help anyone with touring the parks, which is what this particular forums is for.

I dont see the need to argue about it, but I think civil discussions are great and the polls do have merit. we all know disney reads these boards, perhaps somethings will be tweaked to improve what most do not like with FP + as it stands now.

Does the legacy FP option include Disney putting no marketing behind it? Back in the day, you were lucky to see one mention of FP before your trip. Now I get at least a dozen FP+ impressions from the time I make a reservation till the time I check-in, many of which are specific to FP+.

If Disney had done that, the threads here complaining of how horrible FP is would put the current FP+ threads to shame.

Legacy Fast Pass for us!

The grandkids like to ride some of the popular rides as many times as possible. That used to be up to 5 times or more (I think their record was 13 times on Everest in one day).

Alas, we now find that to be a thing of the past.

The fact that I just booked a FP for Spaceship Earth should say something. That ride was always a walk on. This will be our first trip with fp+ and I'm hoping we love it or at least can deal with it. I do not like the fact that the only times I could get for 7dmt were for afternoon/evening.

Don't really care for FP+ and the lack of spontaneity that it brings. Don't really care for the fact that I'm having to guess whether or not my daughter is going to like 7DMT, Space Mountain, and Splash Mountain enough to get FP+ for those each day or to chance her not liking them and getting FP+ for other attractions that I know she will like but often have a shorter wait. Also pretty interested in seeing how the California crowd is going to react to it coming to Disneyland since many of them are locals who just go the day-of.

Absolutely true! Right up until the last day legacy fp was available, there were people who didn't have a clue what it was. The only way you learned the "tricks" of optimizing it was to read forums like this. Now with all the marketing, if you book a WDW vacation, it's impossible not to know of it's existence and how to use it. If legacy had been as widely advertised and used as FP+ is, it couldn't have worked at all. As it was, it worked very well for those who knew how to use it to their advantage- and that's a great deal of the reason why fp+ is so disliked by some Disney vets. Other than the glitch of allowing people to use multiple bands for sdfp's, and I question the real value of that, there isn't any insider info that will maximize it's benefits.

Remind me what was so complicated about legacy FP? Didn't you just stick in a ticket and take what came out?

1) Knowing to start by accepting times the exact opposite of what you really want. (Makes complete sense, huh?)
2) Knowing how to search one person at a time for overlapping times
3) Knowing that sometimes the app will show different availability from the website.
4) Booking a throwaway room for 60 day access
5) Booking "throwaway fastpasses" (ones you have no intention of using) so you can get to your 4th quicker

I personally like the new system a lot, but I never got to experience legacy so I can't really compare the two. However, I will say that I really like the aesthetic of the paper fastpasses. They were really cool looking and fun souvenirs!
