Fast pass plus, not yet activated annual pass panic!

I'm a DVC owner and bought annual passes to activate on our trip this August.

As of today I'm 28 days out.

As far as I was aware I couldn't book fast pass plus as we hadn't activated nor collected our annual passes.

We do not intend on activating them until we arrive as if we activate them early they won't cover our trip early August next year.

I went on MDE this morning and was able to book three fast pass plus for the first two days if our stay. I didn't think I was able to do this due to the Annual passes not being active yet.

Have I some way accidental activated them early by booking fast passes , I'm a worrier and I am worried now. Or can fast passes be booked 30 days out even if we haven't activated the annual passes that are showing in MDE?

Thank you for any help you're able to give me xxx

You are good. APs don't need to be activated for securing FP+'s.

No the annual passes haven't been activated. That will only happen in your first entry to a park.

We bought annual passes back at the end of January for our trip at the end of April. I linked the confirmation number of the AP (we did will call) to my MDE account. We were staying on site so I could make FP 60 days in advance. There was no A&E or 7DMT at the time so I didn't have any trouble getting what I wanted.

When we got there we activated our AP's at the will call booth at Animal Kingdom. They are good until one year from that date.

Our situation may be different than yours because we have an onsite stay (I am assuming you don't) but that shouldn't affect the annual passes.

BTW - I was concerned about the same thing as you are but found there was no issue.

So I'm not the only one that was worried about them activating early!

You're right we're not staying onsite for this trip.

As we could only book 30 days out we couldn't get the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in MK for our first day or Toy Story Mania for day two.

We don't mind missing out on Anna and Elsa.

Your MDE should say something like Annual Pass Exchange Certificate.

If you are staying onsite, you could have booked FP+ at 60 days.

We had to renew our APs before our 60 day fastpass mark in June. We just added the will call number to our MDE accounts and then linked them all and had no problem at the 60 day mark. We will activate them when we go on the 16th.
