Fast Pass plus group of 5 - better splitting into a 2&3?

Just watched a video where a couple managed to keep snapping up FPP bookings after they had used their first 3.

It struck me that you're better off as a bigger group, splitting up into smaller parties. I might not snag a last minute FPP at 3pm-4pm for 5 people, but I might get 2 people at 2.45-3.45 and 3 at 2.55-3.55 sort of thing.

Does that strategy make sense? And if so, how easy is it to unbundle the fact all 5 of us are on one profile with one room reservation?

TIA

Each person has their own Profile in the MDX account. When booking FPs, you pick and choose from the listed ticketed Profile names.

Very easy. When you go into the FP+ through the app, it will ask what members of your family you want to make a FP for.

Yes that is definitely worth doing, I had quite a lot of success breaking our group of 8 into pairs then refreshing to move times to overlap

I’d still make an attempt to get all 5 at once before splitting. I usually travel with 5 and have only had to split a few times for the most popular rides. It’s a bit of a pain to go through the process twice to find overlapping times. Worth it if the other way doesn’t work but I’d give it 5-10 minutes of refreshing before splitting up.

Thanks to all for responding, but especially this one. I assume it will be easier if we have two apps running on two phones??

Definitely try 5 first. For a lot of rides it’s totally doable.

I’m thinking that if my kids really love FOP we may just try to get a same day FP for 2 and one for 3 and go separately. It seems like it would be a near impossibility to get those times overlapping. I’m just not sure how long to try for 5 before giving up on that approach. Decisions, decisions.

I do think that your strategy would work or possibly would have better results searching for 2 vs 5 people. It can't hurt to try for the 5 people, but if no luck just change the party size. i think when you are initially making FP at the 60 day mark you don't run into issues, but if you are looking at making FP for 30 days out or trying to get the 4th or 5 th FP then smaller groups might have better out comes.

Just got back today. We had excellent results splitting our party into 3/2. It seemed like once we snagged a FP for one group, it showed up soon after for the other. And then MDE put them together into one. We were there 5 days and used 3-4 additional FPs every day after we used our first three. Not just the easy to get rides, either, things like Peter Pan and Toy Story. Have several members of your party start trying for the next FP as soon as you go through the line. It works if you work it! We didn't try for FoP because I had booked it two times before I left. But my daughter and I got a second ride last August almost right after our first one.

This worked for us in February except we never could get a same day FOP. I even started looking for just 1 for that. And I probably refreshed 200 times that day:confused3
