Fast pass link question

We have 30 days before we can book our fast passes. I currently have them linked to our first resort.
We are staying 2 nights AoA and then rented points and staying 7 at poly dvc.
I am going to cancel the 8 day passes I have linked to AoA and purchase a 9 day through undercover tourist.
Questions:
Do I have to purchase the tickets before my 60 day in order to make fp?
If I purchase through UT, how do I link it to my hotel?
Thanks

No but you’ll only be able to book FPs for 8 days not 9.

If I purchase through UT, how do I link it to my hotel?
Link the ticket numbers in the ticket section of your MDX account. Tickets do not link to your hotel; they link directly to you in your MDX account.

But if I cancelled the tickets I have booked but don’t purchase the others until after the 60th day then I can’t book fp?

Why would you Cancel tickets and have -0- tickets in your account? No one books FPs without linked tickets.

I appears as if the OP has 8 day tickets as part of a package at AoA (2 night stay). They want to remove the tickets from the package and purchase 9 day tickets separately from UT.

Yes; she stated she wants to Cancel her package tickets prior to her FP window and then questioned if she needed the UT tickets linked to her hotel prior to her window opening.

Her reply is buried in the quote in her last reply.

The new tickets with declared usage dates (standard tickets) or valid dates (flex tickets) have to be in the My Disney Experience account and covering the days for which Fastpasses are booked prior to the removal of the package tickets that originally supported the FP bookings. Otherwise existing FPs might be dropped.

They say that a momentary absence of room nights covering the dates for which FPs are booked during the time a resort reservation is modified should not affect the FPs. But glitches have happened in the past and you need to recheck the FPs a few hours and again a few days after the resort change to be sure and to contact Disney immediately in case of problems.
