Fast pass line problems

We loved using the fp---our only problem was..... groups of people that would block the fp entrance waiting for their time!!!! WE actually stood behind the groups at a couple of locations until we realized what was going on--then we would say excuse us--and move on through--we of course got some bad looks!! I really wished the CM would have asked these folks to move to the side.
We had a great time and this is my only official complaint!! :sad2:

I just walk past them. I couldnt care what looks I get. Youre blocking the path so dont get mad at me for stupidity on your part.

I've seen this too! Silly of them to just stand there and wait..

I have seen a CM ask them to step back a bit, thank goodness.

These same people do this at airports. When you have assigned seats, people that board last, will block the entrance to the jetway for those boarding first. Many people are inconsiderate whether it's at WDW, airport, etc..

It happens all the time, a large group will get there early and block the entrance.
I will just try to go around them and hold my fastpass up.
They are just waiting for their time to go in and not thinking of anyone else who has to enter. The cast member should tell them to wait to the side.

Samantha - We've found this to be annoying, too. At times when the parks are already crowded (for example New Year's) you don't need to have tons of people milling around the entrance when they're not eligible to ride yet. On one return, we made our way through a huge crowd, each time asking "excuse me, but are you going on [whatever] now?" only to be told that they still had [5, 10, 15] minutes to wait. Not ONE SINGLE PERSON was eligible to ride yet, and there was a crowd of maybe 70 people blocking the entrance. There's always something better you can be doing with your time.

I've just never understood why people bottleneck like that...you have, what, an HOUR to use your FP? And they would rather waste time waiting for that exact minute that it's valid? :confused3

I just don't get it. Last month we went to BTMR at our return time and the cm said we were 10 min early. Our fastpass was for 12:00 and the clock above him said it was after 12:00 but he was going by his watch that "was right" This caused a huge line to form waiting to go in. He wouldn't use the clock that was above his head because "it was wrong". I couldn't believe how many people were waiting to ride because we had to go by his watch. Finally another cm saw the line and told him he could not use his watch for the time.

This happened to DD and me a couple of years ago at the Space Mtn FP entrance. It was close to closing, our FP's had "matured" about 30 min and there was a huge crowd. I asked the very last person in line what time his pass was and it had not matured yet (that took out the possiblity that the ride was down). So we politely "excused" ourselves thru the multitude and were scorned like we had just crashed a party or something. Didn't bother me but my DD was traumatized so much that she didn't want to ride SM on our next trip. I posted the situation on this forum and thanks to many of you that commented and reinforced my understanding on how the system works and that we did nothing wrong, DD got over it and we have ridden SM many times since with no further episodes of total stupidity.

I agree that the CM's need to manage this situation better. :thumbsup2
