Fast pass + gurus -- help needed!

Hey guys,

I was browsing MDE and noticed that I have to customize 9 magic bands for the three people in my traveling party. We are first staying at BLT, then cruising on the dream and then heading back to VWL. We are DVC members and also have annual passes.

Is it really necessary for us to activate all 9 bands. Can we load one with all of our info, e.g. Load band with annual pass and room key? How does having an annual pass band affect our overall fast pass + reservations? Are we given a different reservation window than the magic your way tickets? This is all very confusing and frustrating. While I think the concept of the magic band is pretty neat, I hate the fact that I have to relearn everything. I was comfortable in my disney bubble...

You only need ONE SET of MB.
ANY of them (one each for each person) will work for the entire trip...
AND for any additional trips over the next 2+ years.
(The internal batteries die after 2.5 years, or so.)

Just to keep things as clear as possible-

There is no reservation info, or ticket info, or credit card info,
or FP+ info "put onto" a MagicBand.

The MagicBands just contain a unique serial number that is used
to access the information that is stored in your MyDisneyExperience computer file.

So, even if you were to lose a MagicBand, the info stays locked in your file.
Disney can just set up a new band (different serial number)
to access the info in your MDE file.
Disney can also issue ADDITIONAL MB's to a guest and each
additional band can be used for the same purposes as the first band.
So, yes, there can be multiple MB's per person, and each of them can be used by that person.

The MagicBand works like the combination to a locked safe, or a key to a locked door.

Why does this distinction matter?
Because there is so much fear about losing bands and,
in turn, losing all of a guest's information thought to be on the band.

The MB, itself, is not the file of info or the container of the info.
The MB just unlocks the file of info, allowing it to be accessed from your MDE account when needed.

To add to Robo's explanation, I would order all three per person. Your name is printed on the inside, so you can know which ones belong to whom. There are two reasons why I suggests this...if someone loses a band, you do not have to pay to get a new one. You will already have a free backup. And 2; if you have more than and band, you can coordinate with your outfit. This may be a very fun feature for kids (and some adults ) to pick which band they want to use each day.

LOL, I ordered a different color band for each stay (3) just so I can wear different color bands.
