Hi again DISers... You all are the pros and know the ins and outs for sure!

Okay, last time we went to WDW was in February 2010. It was one of the slowest two weeks of the year - so fast pass was a moot point. It wasn't even available for most major attractions - and we only used them once or twice... (I'm thinking rockin' roller coaster and big thunder mountain)...

But, at the time of our last trip, you could pull a fast pass and use it ANY time after the listed time... i.e.: even if it said say 10 - 10:20 a.m. you could go ANY time the rest of the day after 10 a.m. and use that fast pass on that attraction.

So grateful someone posted a response to one of my other questions saying this isn't the case any more.

So now we have to go back at the listed time? Any other tips or suggestions? Know of any good websites that explain the process in an easy to understand way?

Many thanks and blessings!

The only suggestion I have is to make sure you are there when you time comes around. I hear they are quite strick with not allowing you to go in even if you only a few minutes late.

You do however have a window of 10-15 minutes to arrive early/late to use the FP. I am sure someone will correct if im wrong about the minutes that they will allow you in. So just check to make sure you are aware of the early/late arrival times.

I hope this makes sense :)

You know I wasn't even aware of that loophole when we were there before, but now that's got me thinking. Wouldn't it mess up those who have later fastpasses if more and more people arrived late, thus increasing their lines? I think overall it's a good thing that they're cracking down, especially if it was something that became quite well known as I imagine probably happened in the days of social media and internet.

This is a very hot topic. You have quite a few people doing math trying to figure out which causes more delay. Having those hold onto the FP and using it later or using the FP at the right time?

For our family we use to collect them and use them later throughout the day. If the line was less than 30 minutes we wouldn't use them. Sometimes they never did get used.

The current policy as far as use of FastPasses is:

1. They will be accepted at an attraction no earlier than five minutes prior to the start time of the window.

2. They will be accepted at an attraction no later than 15 minutes after the end time of the window.

3. The only exception to #2 is if the attraction was out of service during the time window; the amount of time may vary by attraction.

4. Having a dining or any other reservation, or any delays not due to the specific attraction being out of service, will not create an exception to #2 above.

Thank you for the clarification on the times that you are allowed to enter. I was thinking 5 minutes but wasn't quite sure. :thumbsup2
