Fast Pass / annual pass question

Hey Disney friends,

I'm coming up on the 60 day mark for our trip. We only so far have gotten hotels. If I want to book FP+ soon, do I need to have the park tickets purchased and linked to do so?

And if I want to buy the AP, can I buy it now but not activate it until we go in Sept? TIA!!

Yes, you will buy an annual pass voucher that you won't activate till you arrive.

You do need to buy and link tickets before you can book a FP.

Yes you can buy AP now and activate it when you go and link it into MDE so you can make fastpasses at 60 days if you have a hotel reservation onsite. You will not be able to make any fastpasses at 60 days without a hotel reservation onsite and valid park entry (tickets) linked.

Just to make sure I understand, if I buy an annual pass today for my September trip it will become active once I link it to MDE to make my fast pass selections? Or will it not be active until I go to the Will Call window at Guest Services when I arrive for my September trip? I want to buy an annual pass and set up my fast passes for my trip that is coming up in 60 days but I don't want my annual pass to be active until I arrive for my trip in September!

^ not active until you trade voucher for pass when you get there I am doing same thing you can still use vouchr for fastpass plus

Today: buy ap voucher online

60 days out: book fp+ if staying onsite
30 days out: book fp+ if staying offsite

Arrival day: go to ticket kiosk, convert voucher into actual annual pass and enter parks. You now have 365 more days of pass time.
