Pepper Market: Wow, how disappointing Pepper Market has become. We used to think staying at CSR was a draw because PM was a STEAL for the CS credit. This is no longer the case. Gone are the days of true interaction and being able to chose from 5-6 stations with lots of individual choices for your meal. We felt like it was just another food court, and someone in our party even went as far to say that her food tasted like someone opened up several cans of stuff to make her nachos. Nothing fresh or interesting here anymore, which made us all very sad. We will mourn PM of its original incarnation for years, i'm sure.

50sPTC: Wow, what a difference here! I was here in late 2014 and no one in my party of 8 loved their food. We had all been here several times in the last 5 years and we agreed it was declining. It was ho-hum. Now? WOW! Everything was delicious. I would highly recommend the combo platter of 3 entrees-- we loved trying each thing. The vanilla cokes were delicious and my mom said her root beer float was perhaps the best she'd had in her life! However, i do miss a bit more role-playing and interaction that used to occur from the staff. This may have been due to our particular waitress but honestly, I think the "feel" has been gone for years. It definitely still has some great nostalgia, but don't plan to have awesome interactions anymore.

Backlot Express: We shared the Royal Guard Burger while the kids shared the Dark Side Chicken and Waffles. The burger was really great. Maybe because we were starving to death, but that's ok. The chicken and waffles is just chicken nuggets with a death star (or vader impressed, I can't remember) waffle. It made no waves, really... it was just ok.

BOG Breakfast: BIG yes if you are on the dining plan. If not? I probably would not pay $$$ for this breakfast. As dining plan people, we loved the shareable pastries and the entrees and felt this was more than great as a CS credit. My dad and I both got the bacon and egg sandwich with brie and loved it. My kids raved about the French Toast, and my husband really enjoyed his Croque Madame. This was a beautiful and tasty start to the day, although I wish they would do hostess seating since it can be very challenging to find a spot to sit with a larger party.

Skipper's Canteen: Well, this was definitely the culinary and experiential highlight of our trip. Robert was our server, hailing from Atlanta. He was dry humored, hilarious, and quippy. He told a lot of classic Jungle Cruise jokes and also gave insight on the many pieces of nostalgia in the various rooms. He also was fast to get our food and was honestly the best server I've ever had in 28 trips to WDW. The food was DELICIOUS, but we are from a very multicultural area with tons of "weird" choices at every turn, so I can see how the unprepared Americanized diner would not be accustomed to this menu. Despite that, the food was truly delicious and I hope they don't "dumb it down" since there are plenty of basic options throughout the park. This restaurant is now on my absolute must-do-every-trip list.

Typhoon Lagoon: Nothing to speak of other than waiting 15+ minutes past the posted time for the bar to open simply because the bartender didn't have a specific type of juice unrelated to our order. Drinks were good but not $12 a piece good. Counter service food was ok.

'Ohana: We had the most beautiful view of the castle from our table, but our waiter was so obviously unhappy and sarcastic that it really left us struggling to enjoy the meal. The food was pretty good, but was unappetizing to my smallest kids with the exception of the noodles. Overall, I likely won't return and if I do want that type of food, the Spirit of Aloha dinner is much better for me and worth the second credit. I left feeling taken advantage of after tipping our waiter as much as we needed to.

Akershus LUNCH: Ok, I've done Akershus a bunch of times for my daughters to meet the princesses, but I'd never done lunch. The food was GREAT for lunch! WAY better than the breakfast offerings, in my opinion. Definitely a highlight for my family. Two of us had the Aquavit fish, and the sauce paired with the potato pancake was out of this world. My husband totally raved about the meatballs, and our kids cleared their plates as well. My favorite dessert was definitely the "rice cream" with raspberry sauce, but unfortunately I had to share it with my 10 month old who refused to stop eating it! Other highlights were the brown cheese, the crackers, and the shrimp salad. Furthermore, on a character level, I felt the princesses were totally on point, particularly Jasmine who made an extra effort in every way.

Beirgarten dinner: What's not to love here? We met a great family we were seated with. The show was perfect as always and it gave our kids a chance to let loose and dance. The food is always on point here but there's very little changes over the last 10 years or more. Bottom line, if you like German food, you're happy. If not, you can probably still find something to make due, like the carved meat station with mac & cheese, etc. I always feel like Biergarten is a win, and never crowded.

Anandapur Local Foods Cafe: Gosh, I would probably die happy if my last meal were the snack credit egg rolls and fried rice. If you have snack credits to burn, here's the best place to do it. We routinely make a meal of these items at AK, and honestly I've never been more satisfied by "Chinese" food in my life. The folks here at the Dis alerted me to this snack credit phenomenon years ago and it's still my go-to every single trip. The best!

Tusker House Lunch: This was my first visit to Tusker and I felt the buffet had a lot of nice options, especially as a character experience. Fun and yummy, with plenty of good choices for the littles. The carving station was fresh and delicious, and the sides were unique and tasty. The character interactions were just long enough to be fulfilling while still giving us plenty of time to enjoy our meal. I will definitely return!

I hope my reviews help someone!

we were in Disney at the same time...our favorite on the trip was Crystal Palace and Ohana...loved our meals...thanks for your reviews..

Thanks for your reviews. I'm really bummed to hear that the Pepper Market went downhill. It was so good when we stayed at CSR. Such a relaxing place to eat. It almost felt a table service.

Great reviews! Thanks for sharing. I appreciated the tip about using snack credits at Anandapur Local Foods Cafe:

Thanks so much for your great reviews! Skippers is definitely on my list for August!

Loved your reviews and your trip sounds like it was wonderful. I was so excited about Skippers Canteen, when I first heard about it, but unfortunately they are already, 'dumbing down the menu'. I hope they keep at least some of the meals untouched, as they sounded so yummy!

I really didn't care for Pepper Market. Either the food or the staff. I'm sure we will stay at CSR again sometime in the future, but it may be awhile before that time comes around.

Sunnie-- Robert, our waiter at Canteen, said that they might be rewording some of the choices "to be more accessible" (which I took to mean more appealing to a general American audience), but I asked him specifically about changes to the menu to "dumb it down" and he said that is absolutely not happening that he has been told. I hope he's right because it was GREAT!
