Ryan has proposed MULTIPLE times over the years; she has always said no. I guess she got gun shy after Lee Majors.

Farrah & Ryan did split up for a short time before she was diagnosed. Her illness that brought him back to her side. He has been her rock through this.

I watched an interview with Ryan several weeks ago. The love that he feels for her is so touching. I trully hope that she has a miracle recovery.

I was wondering if he even sent her a card wishing her well. I remember an interview long time ago, where he said back then that they no longer talked to each other or kept in touch. I wonder if after 30 years, would he still send a get well wish anyway.

On The View, the other day, Barbara Walters said she asked Farah why she had never agreed to marry Ryan. Farah said that she loved him but he was very opinionated and kind of bossy. Barbara said that interview will be on 20/20.

He was previously married to actresses Joanna Cook Moore and Leigh Taylor-Young. He has four children: Tatum O'Neal and Griffin O'Neal (with Moore), Patrick O'Neal (with Taylor-Young) and Redmond O'Neal (with Fawcett).

The impression I always got was that Farrah's hesitation stemmed a lot from the dysfunction that seems to surround Ryan and his family. And with Farrah terminally ill, marriage seems like a nice way to express their enduring love for each other without having to deal with the day to day problems that have plagued their family's lives in the past.

O'Neal and his son Redmond were arrested September 17, 2008, after authorities said they found methamphetamine at the actor's Malibu home during a routine probation check on O'Neal's son.[12][13] On January 9, 2009, the younger O'Neal pleaded guilty to one felony count of possession of methamphetamine; he was sentenced to eighteen months in a drug rehabilitation program.[14]

On April 5, 2009 Redmond O'Neal was arrested again for bringing narcotics to a jail facility and possessing a controlled substance following a routine search at a jail security checkpoint.[15]

I wish them well. Their tale would make an interesting movie someday.
