FarmVILLE on Facebook

Can anyone explain the Tuscan wedding to me? I'm collecting olives, etc. but I don't know how this works at all. Thanks.

Robin B - I notied you mentioned Wrigley Field. My son and his friends are doing a tour of all the Baseball stadiums and were at Wrigley's last week. Out of the 20 he has seen so far Wrigley is his favorite.

Maybe Farmville needs a baseball field .....
Mary Anne, your son has very good taste! I have probably been to over a dozen ballparks and Wrigley is still my favorite. Of course, after 23 years of season tickets it's my "home" too :goodvibes. And yes, Farmville needs a ball field :).

Is everyone still having trouble with accepting gifts? I will accept 1 and then it says my gift box is full.

As of 1 am this morning, yes, I was still having trouble. I could only accept about 4-6 at a time, and I only have 4 items sitting in my box.

I was able to accept about a dozen gifts this morning without any trouble.

Does anyone know if I can see who has clicked on my barn raising link? I am thinking about removing some of my neighbors who have over 200-300 neighbors. It seems that they never click on barn raising, never visit my farm and all their feeds are hoovered in mere seconds by someone else (or by someone's snag bar).

You have to collect 4 of each item - Olives, goat milk, eggs and truffles - before you can trade them in for 5 favors. Once you have at least 10 favors you can redeem them for the prizes. You get items from friends who have collected them for working on their farms. Olive trees give olives, goats give goat milk, chickens give eggs and pigs give truffles. You can also get some when they trade in their favors or get enough of each to receive favors.

I hope this isn't too confusing. If you have any questions, please let me know.

As far as I know, it just tells you when it is completed who has helped.

As for SNAG BARS - OOOHHHHH those make me mad! :headache: If I find out my neighbors use them - bye bye they go! I have one neighbor (a DISer too!) that will not even CONSIDER the fact that some of her neighbors may use snag bars. She has hundreds of neighbors that she adds from random game forums. Her stuff is gone in 3 secs or less, and NO ONE fesses up to getting any. She has rare stuff too, as do I. I know there was one link out there where you could see if any of your neighbors were using the Gamer's United snag bar, but there are so many different ones out there. (Can you tell this subject just sets me off? LOL)

I think that link was proven to be falsely accusing people, though. Some people use the Gamer's United website for other things, and the link was reporting those people because they visited the site. They were, in fact, NOT using the snag bar, though. It was causing quite the rift among some circles of "neighbors." False accusations, etc. It was a big mess.

I play the game for fun. I don't care if someone is snagging my stuff, I don't care if someone freeloads on my Co-Op, or whatever. It's just a game, after all.

Is a snag bar like the Firefox toolbar?

Is a snag bar like the Firefox toolbar?

It is a program that automatically checks your feed at a set time interval (you can set it for every 2 secs or something ridiculous) and automatically grabs any bonuses/animals/fuel/whatever posted by your neighbors.

Yes, I know it is just a game - but jeebus, play fair! If you have 5 friends that use snag bars, then POOF - all of your foals you just posted are gone, none for your other neighbors. It is not right to be able to grab everything off the feed, 24 hours a day, and leave nothing for fair-playing people.

So, the person isn't actually playing the game, their computer is?

Well, in a sense. The person plays the game, as they still have to plant/harvest, etc. However the part of getting bonuses, helping animals, barn raising, and other things on the feed is automated.

Wow, I had no idea about the snag bar. That could explain why sometimes things are gone instantaneously.

Kinda loses the fun of it. I never know if something is going to be gone in seconds or if I can click on something 2 hrs old and still get it. I've never understood why people will cheat a system.

The whole snag bar situation has gotten worse recently due to the change Zynga made in the Gift Box. Now that you can have unlimited Feed items in your box just reinforces what the cheaters are doing. Where as before, with the strict 50 limit, at least their snag bar could only grab so many things until the user cleaned out the box.

Zynga tried to remedy the situation by adding the "confirmation" click when you get things off the feed. The funny part was, while the people playing the game "fairly" were having problems with it, the people using the snag bars had reprogrammed them within a few hours to work again.

The only real way to circumvent the snag bars is to make a special "friends list" on Facebook of people you want to give the rarer items to, and then when you share them you click on the little lock on the "share" page and make that item only visible to people on that special list.

I was wondering why they added the confirmation click. Now I know. Thanks.

It depends on what you consider "playing the game". "The game" IMHO is what you do inside that Flash window: plowing, seeing, harvesting, placing decorations, etc. The Facebook Wall is really quite a silly (dare I say "stupid") way of dealing with making bonuses available; they should be made available within the "game" not outside of it.

Same with the gift "requests". Silly ("stupid").

I don't like neighbors who leave a feed snagger running all day. That really does make it impossible for anyone not doing that to get some of the rarer and more desirable bonuses. I don't have a problem with neighbors who boot something like that up and watch it work, either before or after they play "the game".

What I think qualifies as "the computer playing the game" are folks who use those tools that do the plowing, seeding, and/or harvesting for them.
