Our family LOVES fresh fruit and veggies - Is there a Farmer's Market near the park where we can pick these things up to have in the hotel room?

Thanks!

Our favorite place for the best produce is Tom's Farm's, which is located on Euclid Ave about a mile west of DLR. (The Corona location is quite elaborate as detailed in their web site. The Anaheim location is pretty much produce-only.)

What an excellent idea. I was going to search for a Whole Foods but this is even better.

I was just going to suggest Tom's, but I was beat to it. :thumbsup2 They also have lots of nuts and dried fruit and trail mix stuff that is all really good.

Just in case you're in a bind at the parks, I wanted you to know that the fruit at Disneyland and DCA is some of the best I've ever had. It's not organic, but then farmer's markets don't specialize in organic (at least around here it's usually mainly conventional) so you might not care...it's the ONLY place where my family eats conventional grapes and apples, that's how good they are. Expensive? YES. Worth it? For many of us, YES.

Just in case you suddenly NEED an apple while exiting Jungle Cruise, or someone craves an ice cold grape while in ToonTown...it should be worth your money. :)

It looks like there's one on Thursdays....

Certified Farmers' Market & Craft Fair
Where: Downtown Anaheim- Center Street Promenade & Lemon Street (map)
The Downtown Anaheim Farmers Market (Noon-7pm) is every Thursday, out doors and offers a variety of fresh produce, cut flowers, baked goods, gourmet foods, unique gift items and more! Sit on the patio of the 195 Downtown Grill and enjoy a great view of the live entertainment.

This is a coincidence - Today I was going to do a search of fruit in DL.

Last time I was there in '99, they had fruit stands. Do they still? What price? Where in DL.

Also, where can I get a smoothie?(no sugary drinks) Prices?

For fruit 2 places I know of for sure: On the R side of Main Street and outside of Jungle Cruise. Prices are ridiculous. I can't remember for sure, but I think it was like $2-3 each. I'm sure there are others, but the price alone has prompted us to carry in our own fruit (plus, I shop organic).

Hope that helps a bit, I'm sure others can add to this.

Yes, there's a bunch of fruit stands. Seems like many of the counter service places also have fresh fruit available. Also, in California adventure, we had good fruit at a stand in Hollywood backlot, and Bakersfield bakery had some fruit, too, as well as yogurt parfaits.

We liked Whitewater Snacks in the GCH. They had fresh, cut-up fruit or veggie trays that you could grab and go. I could grab one of each and it was plenty for my 3 big girls to share.

The other thing was that we ordered groceries from Albertsons and had them delivered to the hotel. You can order 3 bananas, 4 apples, 1 lb of grapes, whatever you want. We found it very convenient to have breakfast foods in our room, as well as a rack of bottled water.

Yeah there are fresh fruit and veggie stands all around the parks. My favorite is in Adventureland right beside the jungle cruise. Its like a mini market. I also like the fact that in DL and DCA when you get something to eat, instead of it coming with french fries, you get the option of apples over chips.

I am a diabetic so we always stop at the market when we are INBOUND to a Disney resort.

In September we stayed at the Grand Cali and actually ordered from Albertson's. We manage our foot budget by dining in the room occassion .

Anyway, we were surprised how good the fruit was <--which was my big worry.

You place your order in advance, indicate where you will be staying and what time you want the delivery. Your credit card is required, of course.

For us, on the minute...it was at the front. DH scooted down and bell services helped bring it up.

SOOOOO easy!

Even DH's .... beer!

Disney Man, there is a Jamba Juice in DTD, if that helps!

Sadly, it looks like the Anaheim location has now closed down after 30+ years.

Thanks for all of the wonderful suggestions! We're arriving on a Sunday, so it looks like the farmer's market is out. I'm glad to hear Albertson's will deliver to GCH. We stayed off site before, and the hotel wouldn't accept the groceries. I'll give it a try!

the packs of mango are so good they come with lime and hotpepper salt .....so good! I swear mangos don't taste as good at home.

Good news - although Tom's Farms closed a few months ago, a new market - Euclid Farmer's Market - has opened in the same location, and DW says it's as good as Tom's, and cheaper. Says it was a busy place today, which is always good to see. The location is on Euclid between Cerritos and Katella, about a mile due west of DLH.
