If you're in the Marketplace trying to get a job, another trick I've found is if someone comes into the room and says hello, respond as quickly as possible. It isn't always, but is frequently, somone hiring and they want someone to respond and be friendly.

I couldn't tell you how many jobs I've gotten that way in the past 2 days.

I never beg, but I do comment, sometimes on the beggars, sometimes on other things or just say silly things. I've found sometimes someone else will agree about the beggars and immediately hire you.

There are a lot of people like us who will not hire the beggars.

I totally agree with being friendly and saying hello to someone as soon as they enter. Thats how I have gotten most of my jobs. The beggers drive me bonkers.

Its probably just me.. but does anyone else have problems when they get hired? I either freeze up. (sorry about that tonight!) am invisible when I get to the farm if I'm hired else where or just dont get the invitation to be hired.. I have no problems hiring people to work on my farm. I think I've worked 2 farms in the last month

I have 3/4's of my farm ready to harvest- onions, pumpkins, and sunflowers. I will be on between 8 and 9 tonight if anyone is on and wants to harvest.

I could really use some work too-- but don't want to sound like I am begging.

AnnR-- sorry I missed you last night. Had to get my hair colored after work and didn't get home til late then we had a pretty bad storm here so wasn't on but a few minutes.

I have found that if you are hired with several other people then the system seems to lock up and sometimes boot you off altogether. I usually just leave if I notice that the system is acting up - it is not worth the aggravation just to get a few coins.

Yep. That's what happens to me.
I have the "Follow avatar while walking" box unchecked as I've found it uses slightly more resources when checked.

The thing is it happens when I'm hired alone too I've just about given up on being hired. It kills my computer to the point of rebooting almost everytime. I should go look on their webpage to see if I can fix it later. I need a way to remind myself to do this

Does anyone know why my dang backward walking roosters won't stay inside their fence?

They used to behave but not anymore. My turkey escapes occassionally too!

BTW -you can freeze the animals with the wrench tool -might speed up the connection

I've heard that if you have lots of animals in a fenced in area that is too small, some will escape. Not sure if it's true or not, but maybe a bigger fenced in area might help.

I had about 45 animals I had to sell some of them! I think I had 20 turkeys!

I finally got pumpkins!

OK-tips form the forums on improving your connections for harvesting-

With the wrench-
turn off trees and flowers
freeze animals
turrn off follow avitar and smooth graphics

Right click on your screen-click quality and choose low.

Make sure that you allow your coins to collect before clicking again.

If you start to have trouble while harvesting(or get the saving...saving message) click on the green electric cord next to the wrench and say yes to disconnect from main frame.

Add the person who hired you to your buddy list (if you son't know them) for the duratino of your job. Then if you do get booted, you can find them againand ask to be re-hired.

The best thing to do is to plant, plow or harvest starting top right corner and moving either to the left or downwards.

Yay! I'm glad I have some of you as neighbors and buddies now!

I'm going to try to limit my harvests to "my people", after tonight, if possible.

I hired someone named Mary Herren. NEVER hire her if you run across her. She never spoke and, though I told her 5 times not to, she did my trees!! I'm sooooo ticked!

How can you boot someone off your farm? Or, can you?

By the way, I'd love to have a couple of bunnies, if someone could send them my way. TIA!

I don't know if you can actively boot someone away from your farm, but it would be handy if you could! : )

I bulldozed a person (someone from the Marketplace who turned out to be a major begger--I don't hire beggers )off of my buddy list yesterday AM, and this morning they sent me a note. ????? I was thinking that bulldozing would mean no more contact. I'll have to wait and see what happens.
