Since tonight is the last night of the event, I just thought it would be nice to share some memories from HHN25...
Here are some from my favorite Scare Zone - Icons-HHN
An Iniquitous

The Usher

The Director

The Storyteller

The Caretaker

Lovely pics........it really was an excellent year for horror nights!

You know, I didn't realize it until just now, but in the photo of the director, his victim is walking in the background.

Good spot!!

I would never have noticed that........

What did you think of this years horror nights overall.......anything you didn't like or something you loved?

Hmmm...what didn't I like this year?
  • The crowds! It was way too crowded this year with very few low attendance nights. While I hate the thought of higher ticket prices, Universal needs to rethink their attendance cap number, even if it means higher pricing for the non-peak nights.
  • The scumbags who harassed, abused and assaulted the scareactors. Everyone working HHN knows there are certain inherent risks with working a haunt event, however that should be limited to the unexpected "fight" response to being scared which results in instant remorse and apologies from the guest who hit the actor. Unfortunately, this year saw too many idiots who made the deliberate choice to touch, strike, spit on, punch, kick, trip, verbally abuse and even sexually assault scareactors. This is NEVER okay and it really makes me angry.
  • The location of Jack's show. I'm too old and too fat to want to watch an almost 30 minute show standing in the midst of a big crowd. Plus it did create some traffic flow issues at the entrance to Evil's Roots.
As for what I loved....
  • Dancing with the HHN bear in Monsters & Mayhem on a few occasions. Especially on the last night in the presence of one of the event's creative execs who appeared to find our interlude rather amusing. Now that's one for the record books.
  • Pretty much every run through Monsters & Mayhem, Body Collectors & the deliciously trippy Asylum in Wonderland.
  • Costume contests in Psychoscarapy.
  • The ICONS SZ with extra love for both Ushers, both Directors, my beautiful Angel of Death, La Llorona (cast a/c), and the Storyteller's helper who kept trying to slip me some tongue.
  • Going through the TWD house essentially alone one night and getting ALL the scares at full throttle.
  • The final Bill & Ted show.
  • Participating in the Legendary Truth investigation/technology T.E.S.T.
  • The Clown Circle
  • The Duff Gardens crew
  • Splurging for Express on our FF+ pass.
There's more but it I kept going you'd all get bored and fall asleep (if you haven't already, lol). Overall, it was a very satisfying and fun HHN for me.

I wouldn't fall asleep.....love hearing folks experiences at horror nights........

That is a good one with the bear in Monsters & Mayhem.......wow.........like it!!

We weren't too bad some nights as we mostly went in for a few hours at a time, although we stayed longer than planned a couple of times cause we were just having so much fun.......but it was busier than previous years, I think quiet nights are a thing of the past.

I agree, we would pay more for tickets for less crowds, but doubt that will happen.......more likely to get price increase and more crowds.........we just wouldn't do it at all without EP.......those queues were downright scary for regular line some nights........

Had no idea it was that bad for SA!!! Yep, no excuse for morons to behave like that......hope they were dealt with appropriately and didn't get away with it!

But glad you enjoyed it overall, I know you go most, if not all nights???

We loved it too........scare zones were best we had seen for years, yes definitely the icons and evil roots and heck Psychoscareapy too were all brilliant. This for us was the best year for pictures with SA........particularly the roaming ones........

House highlights were

1. Body Collectors/ Monsters & Mayhem
2. Freddy v Jason
3. Insidious
4. The Purge

The rest we weren't thrilled with......AWiL was ok but not as good as before for us, good scares though at times. WD did not like at all and Asylum and Run........I hate to say we hated them......but we did.......just didn't click with us at all......particularly Run.

Oh yeah......I hear you on Jack show location and yes, after being on our feet all day.......it was a tough stand at times! Easier to keep walking than stand still.

Thanks for your thoughts, it's interesting to hear others thoughts on it, particularly regulars.......:thumbsup2

I have to agree with you about Run, it was the house I thought had such great potential but it just failed to meet my expectations. However, I will say that it did show some good improvement over the course of the season.

Conversely, The Purge and Insidious started out really high on my list but instead of getting better week by week, they stayed at the same level. They were good but they just couldn't seem to keep up the energy.

Besides that one run through TWD, it was a fairly disappointing house. I don't blame the cast for that, I just think it was a hard season to bring to life in that format.

AWiL was probably the biggest disappointment for me because I really did love it in 2013. I just think it was too soon to bring it back in an almost identical format.

Asylum was great for me, but I think it helped that I didn't go into it expecting it to be a "scary" house. It just came across as such a wonderfully over the top acid trip fun house and was also very lush visually so in that sense it met and exceeded my expectations. Had I been looking for true scares, I would probably have been disappointed.
