YEAHHHHHH! Today my planner called and we got our day! May 19, 2007 at 5pm in WP w/ cocktails in Whitehall and reception in GF ballroom. Now, we plan on having rehearsal dinner, possibly at Alfredo's, with dessert party for Illuminations but for the day after the wedding, Sunday, we want to do a farewell breakfast sort of thing. What are everybody's thoughts and/or recommendations? Does Disney even do this? (silly question, does Disney want my money? Of course they do?) But where?
I know I have time but I am so excited I want to know exactly where everything will be
:rotfl:

I think that's a great idea!

I guess you'd have to think of a couple of things:

1) Are you going to pay for everyone?

2) Do you want a buffet?

3) Do you want characters?

Sounds like a great idea to me!!! :thumbsup2

We did a farewell brunch the day after our wedding and it was great! Everyone loved it and it was so nice to say "good-bye" to my family. We went to Whispering Canyon Cafe at the WL. It was fun, they called up us, a newly engaged couple, and a couple celebrating their 10 year anniversary to the front of the restaurant for a dance contest and kissing contest (we won :lmao: ).

It was really nice to spend time with everyone and have a chance to thank them for coming. There are SO many options for places to go at the different resorts so no one has to buy a park ticket if they don't want to. I told our EM where we wanted the brunch and she set up the reservation for us, which worked perfectly :teeth:

My first thought way Chef Mickey's, but they I thought I wonder how many people she's talking about. If it's a small group you could do any of disney's resturants. But if it's larger you could do a private party. It sounds like a great idea though.

I am having a Farewell Brunch/Breakfast the day after my wedding as well. Since there will be like 50-75 guests, I could not do what I wanted to do at first which was Chef Mickey's. I thought it would be so much fun to have everyone go to the character breakfast there since it is my favorite but they wouldn't do it for that many people. So, I opted for a private one at The Attic at the Boardwalk. The room is great! It overlooks the Boardwalk and the water. It is so adorable that you don't even really need decor! We are going with standard everything and only having vases with gerber daisies in them as the centerpieces. We are having a buffet menu b/c you can't do sit down there but I wanted buffet so that worked out. Anyway, I hope this helps!

StitchBride,
I wish my DH and I had a farewell breakfast. We had planned on it but had to cut back on something. I think it is a great idea and a great way to say Goodbye to everyone.
Have fun with your planning.

Of course you can do this :) Just know that only things "the day of" count toward your minimum .. so if you are a FL resident or an AP holder you might want to consider getting a DDE card (Disney Dining Experience) to save 20% off the entire bill.

1900 Park Fare would be nice too!

Hello,
I am getting married in next May in Disney as well, but a couple of weeks before you. I was thinking of the same thing, a breakfast farewell brunch. I have done the character breakfast at Ohana's a couple of times, and have LOVED IT!!! Everything is family style, and it was just so comfortable and a great time. A friend of mine just came back from Disney with a group of people and they did Ohana's for breakfast and she said it worked great with the large group of 16 adults and 5 children.
Disney will do whatever you want! I am booking 60-80 people to go to the Hoopty Doo Review for our rehearsal dinner, we acutally booked it yesterday. I would contact your contact person at Franc's and run everything by them, that is who I have been emailing with back and forth, pretty much every day. They are awesome, I deal with Joe Dematei and I LOVE HIM!!! He is awesome, gets right back to you. If it is something you want to do and have a large group you have to start making those reservations now, that is what I was told.
Have a Disney Day!
