Far and Away

Anybody see all of this movie? I fell asleep about the time Kidman's character is shot. How does it end?

Ok for anyone who hasn't seen the movie I don't want to give it away, so highlight the following text. It was pretty good. For a Tom Cruise movie...


So Joseph takes Shannon to the place her parents are staying in Boston to get help. He then leaves her there. Shannon's fiance tells her that she was abandoned by Joseph. Fast forward a while. Joseph is working building the railroad and Shannon and her fiance along with her parents have gone to Oklahoma to claim land. Joseph sees the people going ot Oklahoma and runs away from the railroad to do the same.

He runs into Shannon when he gets there and they don't say a lot. He wishes her well and you can tell there is still feelings between them. So he buys a horse. And it's really old. And it dies. He has to get an unbroke horse the next day for the race.

So at the race for land, Shannon's fiance has already found a piece of land that is perfect for them, just like the one that Joseph had described to Shannon. The racers take off and Joseph's horse is almost un-rideable. But He finally gets going and he's riding faster than anyone else. He gets to the land that Shannon's fiance was going to claim and the fiance strikes him down and he's about to die. Shannon chooses Joseph over her fiance and Joseph comes back to her and they stake their claim to the land together.

The end.

Personally.. I really like Far and Away... this was done before mr. cruise got so kooky.... well at least before his kooky-ness got so public

Ron Howard directed, his brother Clint and his Dad are both in Far and Away...
