FAQ about the Disney Dining Plan

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! :goodvibes

I got the dining plan for our trip in November. My only concern is that the last time we went we had 2 meals a day - a big breakfast and then dinner. And our breakfast's were sit down service and so were our dinners. Now I just have to figure out how to schedule the CS and TS meals. I'm trying to figure where to go for breakfast using the counter service. Any suggestions on where to get a good breakfast?

I have a feeling that we'll end up having more table service meals than we're alloted, but will still save $ with the plan.

Try checking out the allearsnet.com menus. Although I don't think they are the full selection it helped me plan out my cs breakfast meals. Some of mine are the Boulangerie (EPCOT) and Main St. Bakery (MK, I read that their french toast loaf is recommended) and another is our food court at POFQ. I think there's also a MacDonald's in AK.

Good luck!

I understand that DS will be able to share off of our plates at our meals. So here is my question will they serve him a drink at a buffet or CRT? Will I be able to buy him one?

Thank you for all the tips. Will be going with DW and DD. Have MYW plan with dining and planning on meals at:

San Angel
Concourse Steakhouse
Liberty Tree Tavern
Mama Melrose
Cafe Mickey
Crystal Palace Breakfast

With the sharing tip for my 3 year old DD - we can get an extra dinner. DD is really excited about the trip - but DW and me are equally excited. I haven't been since I graduated High school in '92 and DW hasn't been since '85. With these tips we envision more trips to come.

Does anyone know whether the Beaver Tails in Epcot or the Dole Whip in MK are included in the snacks for the dining plan?

Welcome to the DIS!!!

Unfortunately, no. They are not included. The snacks are pretty strict. From the first page of this thread: 1 snack, such as a frozen ice cream bar, box of popcorn, 20 oz bottle of Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Dasani water or a medium fountain soft drink at select snack cart locations

Thank you for the clarrification. I will at least know to expect to pay out of pocket for the Dole Whips - a must have for DD. Great site and enjoying the information.

24 days till Disney.

I hate to be the one to post this if it is not true, but I heard the Beaver Tails were gone now. Can anyone (please) correct me (or if you must, confirm this)? I think it is much better to know before I get there.

They were not there over Christmas. I don't know if they have returned. I hope so! My DD loves them.

Can anyone tell me how Counter Service and Breakfast would work. Would you just get entree? :earsgirl:

The wording on the broshure is 1 entree, 1 dessert, 1 drink... so I think you can get a muffin or something like that as your "dessert"

Yes at all the buffets we went to they served DD(2) a drink of choice at no charge including CRT(B), H&V(D), CM(D), CP(L), Donalds(B). At the regular TS resturants they charged us for her drink these included LeCeiller(D) &
CRT(D)
HTT Tina

This may be silly, but what if you spend the last 2 nights in another on-site resort, purchasing room only. For the first 5 nights, I would and MYWD and 7 day tickets, then is the dining only 5 nights? Then if so, can I get MYWD without park tickets for the last 2 nights?

Dining is five nights, but six days, so you could still use it on the day that you check out of the first place and check into the other. Since you'd be so close to the end of your trip, it may make more sense to just pay out of pocket for those days, rather than buy more tickets.

Edited to say: I don't believe that you can get MYWD without buying at least a one day ticket. Of course, it's a voucher, so if you thought you'd just keep it for a future trip (you could upgrade it) you could do that, but I probably wouldn't bother for such a short time period.

I have a question for anyone who knows about the dining plan. I have read through this thread and see how people paid for their children's meals in order to save the credits for future adult meals. I heard that they stopped lumping them all together so that people can no longer do this. If I skipped a child's meal, I would still have to use it later for a child. I even called the 407-wdw-dine and they said that meals could only be re-used for a child and not saved for an adult meal. Does anyone know if the plan (as of october 2005) will allow adults to use saved children's credits? Are the disney people trained to say that this won't work, even though it will? I just don't want to plan on saving them and then lose them in the end. Also, when I booked the dining option, I as told that TS meals could be used as CS Meals. Today, the disney PS agent said that TS meals had to be used only for TS and not downgraded. Have they changed that? I knew CS could not be traded up for TS but it would save them so much $$ if they'd let it switch the other way. Thanks for any help!

After reading current dining threads, there is no evidence of change in how the credits are pooled. The changes were supposed to take effect in July but recent visitors have indicated that there is no change, so far.

I had not read that you could not use TS credits for CS meals. Anyone know?
