Between the ceremony and your DP, what did you get up to?

Id like my ceremony on japan, reception at living seas, but also a dessert party to watch illuminations later on, but Id like the whole wedding party to stay together during the whole day. But where and what can we do????

So, any ideas?? Can we all take our guests into a bar in the poly or another hotel maybe?

You could all walk around the boardwalk and do fun things, like ride the bikes go to the ESPN sports bar, or even the arcade!

We had our wedding at UK and then had our reception at CG. We also did Illuminations later that night. We let everyone go after the reception and told them what time to meet back up. That gave the families with the young kids time for dinner and a nap, and the older (adults or kids) could hang out and go to the park should they choose. It was really up to the family what they chose to do.

Our wedding is this coming November. We are also doing a 9:00 ceremony in Epcot and then our reception at ADH - which ends at 3:00. We are all getting back together for an IllumiNations Dessert Party in Epcot in the UK Lower around 8:00. As both us and our guests will be up very early for our ceremony, we figured this would give them and us time to go back to their resort, rest, change, maybe use the pool or if they really want to - go to a park.

My DF and I will be wearing our wedding clothes and my girls want to wear theirs also. Not sure if the guys will be putting their tuxes back on - it is totally up to them.

I think if you try to keep everyone together for the whole day - they will be exhausted by the time the dessert party comes around. Hopefully if our guests rest up in between after the dessert party we can all hang out longer. We are staying at The Boardwalk so maybe they will want to head to Jellyrolls or the ESPN club.

What they said! We took a nap and just enjoyed time alone together to compare notes on the wedding. Our guests rested, swam, went to the parks - whatever they wanted to do.

Hey lurkyloo - welcome back. Are you home from WDW. I caught some of your info on your trip - along with some great food pictures. Can't wait to read more.

Hi! Yes! I got a whole lot of Weddings & Honeymoons Board reading ahead of me once I recover... :goodvibes

We had a ceremony at AAR then reception at LS with a break for our DP too. We actually took the bridal party over to Grand Floridian for some beach shots before we split up for a couple of hours. DH and I had to switch rooms since we had been staying separately and most of the rest of the bridal party headed to the park before the DP. We had a lot of people that were switching rooms and because you have to leave so early that morning nothing really gets switched around between rooms :goodvibes

hey Figment, i sat and read your whole wedding trip report very recently and have decided on your's and Caryns report alone i'm DEAD SET on living seas for my reception. And OH MY GOD - your wedding shoes were THE BEST! Im going to do exactly the same now! Im like you and pay attention to all the very small details so it was nice to read i'm not the only one, your report was a great source of inspiration and hope you dont mind but i've taken a couple of your ideas and tweeked them. Like the hankies idea for the mothers/grandmothers - i'm going to get plain ones and cross stitch something personal on them :) And the programs - i'm going to do roughly the same but with cinderellas carriage or a castle

I wasnt keen on the idea of guests and us breaking up between the reception and DP - but you all put up pretty good arguements of why we should meet up again at the DP (like letting them rest, getting time on our own, allowing me to write in my diary etc) so I think i'm going to do what some of you did, go back to the GF for pics on the beach and then have a little rest.

Im hoping to have my MK shoot the next morning, so at least I can recover from the early morning with a little sleep myself! hmmmm, another good reason I think!

Thank you so much for taking time to read through my TR, I know it's gotten pretty long :goodvibes The shoes were definitely a great choice and even though Living Seas wasn't my original choice (we outgrew the AA Parlor), I'm so glad we ended up there because our guests loved it :yay: It really added to the entire Disney experience.

That's a great idea about the hankies. We actually added some flowers and things that my mom cross stitched on them too, it was a great personal touch.

Having the time for the GF pictures was such a great thing for us, I only wish that one of our groomsmen wouldn't have had to leave for the airport from the reception :headache: Those are by far some of my favorite shots from the wedding day!

We postponed our MK shoot for 2 days after the wedding because I knew we would probably crash the next morning. We actually had a brunch scheduled, but ended up canceling since so many people wanted to sleep in that morning :rotfl:
