Fantasyland expansion rumors are true!

I think this is going to be FANTASTIC! :cool1:

Kathy better get that camera of hers warmed up! I sense A LOT of photo opportunities for our favourite Disney blogger coming up!

One thing that puzzles me when I look at the concept art for Duelling Dumbos is that the left-hand spinner seems to have fewer Dumbos than the right-hand Dumbos, by quite a large margin. That looks a little strange to me. Does this support the rumour that one of them will be the Flying Carpets from Adventureland, re-themed? Or do both the Flying Carpets and Dumbos have the same number of vehicles?

All in all, I think this looks fantastic. Fantasyland is probably the flagship land in the flagship park of WDW, and yet is one of the most lightly themed. It deserves some attention. Especially with Harry Potter coming to IOA - their Potterland looks more beautiful and immersive than Disney's fantasyland.

As an aside, if you go on Google Earth to Disneyland Paris, they have StreetView there now so you can literally walk through their Fantasyland, which is beautiful.

I don't know...there is a lot of speculation about that.

My guess personally is that I think they may construct Dumbo #1 in the new area (the one with higher capacity) all the while keeping the old Dumbo open in its' original area and then when the new Dumbo spinner is ready to open, they will open it and then relocate the older lower capacity spinner to its' location on the left pad. My guess only but whether is be the original Dumbo spinner or the re-themed carpets spinner it will occur in this fashion since WDI has stated they do not intend to have any closures of FL attractions during construction. That's the only way they could swing that without a closure!

OH MY GOSH I am sooooo excited about this!!!! I have felt for years-as many do- that MK in WDW has been neglected. We haven't gotten an E-ticket in our MK since 1992 or any *real* drastic retheming in 15 years (new Tomorrowland in 1994). While I am quite a traditionalist and will miss the nostalgia of the way things were I admit this announcement excites me immensely!

WOO HOO! :yay:
