Fantasy Western April 28, 2012

OK, just read the information is usually published in the Navigator, thanks so much! Glad I have a reason to pack my running shoes and will actually have fun using them! :cheer2:

2 months from today we will all be boarding that big, beautiful new lady!!!:banana:

Thanks so much for the info on the 5K, I would be totally game for it and I usually un between a 10 and 10:30 mile if it's flat! I am actually going to be starting training for a 1/2 Marathon right after this trip so that is perfect to keep me running during out week! Do they give you information on the cruise about this or is this something that is just kind of unorganized?

If you wish to get more use out of your running shoes than just the CC 5k since they will be packed, a group of 3 to 4 of us run in the mornings and you are more than welcome to join us. I run about the same pace depending on the distance and would welcome a new running buddy! Let me know if you are interested and we can set-up a time and meeting place. When and what half will you be running? Is it your first? I completed my first half in November (Philly)

I am definitely running the 5K! Sounds great.

Is anybody else doing the Castaway Cay 5k? DH and I (and maybe DD Victoria) are planning on doing it since we are training for a mini triathalon in June. We figured the FLAT land would be ideal...we certainly won't be that lucky in Georgia :lmao:
I've never done a 5k before, so finishing is my goal. Just didn't know if anybody else was doing it, or had done it previously.

Does anybody know if there is the ability to watch the christening tonight?

Hi all!
I'm a single mother traveling with my 5 year old daughter. I'll like to get suggestions for things to do, excursions, etc. Thanks

ag73 - Thanks for signing up on the cruiser list! :thumbsup2

I noticed you said "YES" to FE participation. You will need to contact "cruisevirgin" with your info to be officially added to the FE list. I think you need to have a minimum of 10 posts here on the Dis before you can send her a private message.

Hi! I'm a single mom traveling with my 5 year old daughter. I'm a little bit worried about this trip... I'm not sure if it was the best thing to do but I did it. I just sign on the cruise web but I don't have a clue of what FE is? Can you please let me know what it is and what to do? I did try to conctact you directly or cruisevirgin but got the error message.
Thanks

You received the error message because you need at least 10 posts to send a private message. Hopefully cruisevirgin will see your posts here and answer about the FE, as even though this is my 16th DCL cruise, I have never participated so don't want to give you any misinformation. ;)

Don't worry - I think your child is the perfect age to start enjoying Disney cruising! If you look through the cruiser list on the website, you'll see there are several other 5 yr. olds also. She should have no trouble making new friends, and in any case, the ship is full of wonderful things to amuse and entertain children . . and young-at-heart adults! :wizard:

My almost 9 yr old, Ashli, just told me last night that she doesn't want to go into the kids club......AHHHHHH...I told her I would try to hook her up with some other 9 yr olds before so she has someone to look for. Is there any other 9 yr old girls out there??????? Ashli turns 9 on Tuesday...I also have David who is almost 6...he could care less about knowing someone before hand and he will make friends just fine...and so will Ashli, she is just got it in her head right now that she won't go in there and I hubby and I were sooooo looking forward to the CM coming and getting the kids halfway through dinner so we could enjoy the rest of our dinner...anyone???

TIA!
Aubrey

Welcome! Don't be worried, you will both have agreat time!!! Feel free to post any questions here to help aleve your concerns. This will be our third cruise with Disney and our two kids are 8 1/2 and 21 months. On our first cruise they were 7 and 3 months.

As far as FE, it is a gift exchange for all cabins involved. It can be as simple as candy or some extravagant home made item of your choosing. I love to look at the homemade FE thread on Disboards! I always find it easier to access by Googling "homemade FE gifts" than to locate it here. On our first cruise, we gave a personalized photo album to each family and some candy for the kids. Keep it simple for yourself and don't make it a burden. It's all about fun!!!

AG73 - our daughter is 5 too and an only child so I am sure they can have some fun together! I am still trying to figure out FE ideas too. But if you google Fish Extender Ideas you get some great posts and pics of things people have done in the past.

AG73 I will also be doing the 5K so maybe our girls can do something with my DH while we run!
:cool1:

So I ASSUME someone here might be paying attention to other boards and learn soemthing about the first few sailings beofre ours, I hope you share any info, even if small or trivia!
:cutie:

OK...folks who are interested in shirts...nobody else has posted any other ideas/designs for shirts.
Reiterating...while I don't mind using the design I put out there, I would love to see other ideas. I am totally NOT a creative type person...I love doing the projects, but coming up with the initial idea is not my strongest suit.
Get those creative juices flowing!!! :grouphug:

We have two 8-year old girls, one 9 year old girl, and a 5 year old boy in our group. Maybe we could Skype a bit closer to the cruise date, or meet at some point on the first or second day so your daughter has some friends. My 5 year old nephew is also a David. Funny.

Hi there. I saw your message that you are interested in participating in the FE exchange! That's great. The exchange has about a dozen cabins involved. At the beginning of April I will send everyone involved a spreadsheet with the names, ages, genders, and cabin numbers of all participants. At some point during the cruise you go to their cabin door and leave a little something in their Fish Extender - have you seen any on the FE Disboards? Some are really great. The gifts can range from small trinkets or candy up to more extravagant homemade gifts. Do not fee pressured to spend a lot of money! When you surprise people it's up to you. I have also included on the list if people dine during early or late sittings if you have an opportunity to deliver when they're not there for sure.

When you get to 10 posts, PM me your names, age of your daughter, room number, and your home e-mail so I can send you the file.

I hope you will participate!

Hali
