We have stayed Deck 10 on Dream and Fantasy and loved the overhang due to the awesome shade it provides. We stay forward on Starboard so we are under the Spa/Rainforest and have not had trouble with noise...in fact, the hallways are quiet because there is no need to go that far on Deck 10 unless you are staying there or an officer getting to the Bridge of course. Which is pretty neat...sometimes we run into the Captain and the officers as we are coming and going. We like cabins 10500, 10504 and 10506.
10512 and 10514 are a miserable hell hole of weight dropping and slamming doors overhead. 10516 and 10518 were the same way, as confirmed by our neighbors. Just one part of my review of this room went as follows: "I wouldn’t recommend this room to anybody unless they’re either dead, deaf, sleep so soundly that a lumber truck driving through a nitro glycerine factory wouldn’t wake them up or love to get up to work out before the sun comes up."
The rooms you were in are actually across the hall from the Concierge Host office as well. We saw PJ all the time on our ill-fated deck 10 cruise.
That sounds like a horrible experience, but I really like your description.Very colorful. We saw Captain Thord frequently and had a clear view of the bridge, which we found pretty awesome. Our next cruise (in 3 weeks, 5 days on Dream) we are in cabin 10500. And the cruise after that we are staying in 10504 again. If we found these cabins unavailable, we would probably go back down to Deck 6 or 9 midship where we have been quite a few times before.
I had actually been tempted by Deck 10 Forward, partially for the Star Trek reference.
We were on the starboard side aft, beneath the entrance to Cabanas and the arcade. The only noise issue we had (and it was really minor) was the after party on Pirate Night. We could hear the bass thumping during the party. But it was fairly short..
No we were in 10612. That's more forward than your room. You room is the starboard corner aft room. You're underneath the starboard outside seating area for Cabanas. I'd say it would be fairly quiet there at night. We're in 10658 in June - is that the one you're talking about?![]()

I'm finding my head spinning with all the different categories of staterooms. I know I want a verandah, and I know I don't want a white wall. Where I'm getting lost is trying to decide which locations and verandah sizes are worth a premium. Are the "undersized" verandahs bad? There will only be two of us. Curious to hear people's verandah experiences and recommendations. Thanks!
I had fun writing the entire review.

The experience is exactly why I will *never* do a VGT fare ever again.
Always thought Disney poorly designed their most deluxe rooms in such locations.
Especially annoying when you consider the first two ships didn't have that issue. Palo is aft, all by itself. Well, people can walk around the back side of it, on the outside deck. You can see some pretty interesting things while having brunch because people don't realize those mirrored windows there actually have people behind them. These are the same designers that put Remy and Palo under the basketball court and miniature golf course.
Remember: These are the same designers that put Remy and Palo under the basketball court and miniature golf course. I hate the sound of a bouncing basketball, but I hate it even more when I'm paying good money for a peaceful high end meal. Thankfully we tend to eat late and most people aren't using the courts by then, but when we did the Remy Dessert thing the sound of basketballs wore me out.
I've also had a golf ball fall from the Sports Deck and hit the table where I was sitting on the Meridian smoking deck. I moved up underneath cover at that point.
