Today’s Navigator

We were up just after 8:00 this morning and after making ourselves look presentable we went up to Cabanas for our last breakfast there.

After breakfast I got a few photos of the view.

Then it was time to go ashore for our first ever visit to Castaway Cay and our first opportunity to see the back of the ship.

We got the tram to Pelican Point and changed there for the tram to Serenity Bay, which is the adult only beach.

After a quick look around we got the tram back to Pelican Point and then had a slow wander back towards the ship, stopping for a drink along the way.

Once we got back to the ship we got back on board and started on our packing as we had to leave the ship tomorrow.

After we had packed we went up to deck 11 for a drink and some lunch - I had hot dog and fries and Dad had paninis. I was going to do the Midship Detective Agency again after lunch but it wasn't working so I took photos of the mosaics in the toilets instead - as you do!

We then went and sat on deck 3 for a while. After I had been sitting there for a couple of minutes I decided to go down and see what was on the menu for tonight and while I was down there I noticed that the detective agency was now open so I did the Muppets case for one last time.

After that I went back to deck 3 to wait for the 'See Ya Real Soon' show at 4:15.

We liked the way these lights folded down from the ceiling so they are out of sight when they are not being used.

After the show we went to do our last bits of shopping and then it was time to go back to the Walt Disney Theatre for tonight's show, Believe. Again it was a typical plot of a man who doesn't believe in magic and is led by the genie on a journey that leads to him seeing the light and is a plot to link together classic Disney songs but it is also a great show and well worth seeing.

After the show it was down for pre-dinner drinks and then into Enchanted Garden for the last time. We knew Nicole and Lesley were going to Remy tonight but Julie and Susan didn't turn up either so it was just Dad and I tonight. We both had trio of salmon followed by potato and leek soup, then Dad had beef Wellington and I had lamb sirloin.

From dinner we went up to La Piazza for our final after dinner drinks and said goodbye to Vendy and Anja who had looked after us so well for the last week. Unfortunately I didn’t realise at the time that the photo I took of them came out very blurry and, despite my best efforts, I haven’t been able to fix it.

We also got a lovely note from them at the end of the night.

We then went back to the room where we found copies of the menus from the cruise.

And also the pillow case that I had left to be signed at the beginning of the cruise.

We were in bed by 11:15 ready to get off the ship tomorrow and begin the 'turf' portion of the holiday.

The see ya real soon menus gave me a lump in my throat and I wasn't even leaving the boat. I bet you were both upset after such a fantastic time.

When we left the wonder I was crying and couldn't even say bye to the staff when we disembarked, I just waved. They must have thought I was a complete wet blanket :rotfl:

Lovely day David - can't believe you didn't stay and sample the delights of the BBQ at Serenity Bay though. Serenity Bay is so beautiful and relaxing, though, don't you think?

Lovely that you got copies of the menus. They do look very similar to the old 7 day cruises on the Magic.

Why does your pillowcase say 'congratulations on your wedding' :confused3

Yes we were sad to be leaving, especially after the great time we had with Vendy, Anja and our table mates but we had the days at Animal Kingdom Lodge to look forward to - which was why I booked them.

I had intended to go to the BBQ but we were a little bit early and we aren't really 'sit on the beach types'. I think maybe when we are there next year we'll get off the ship a bit later and go to the BBQ for lunch. Serenity Bay did look absolutely wonderful though.

The pillowcase is a present for a friend of mine who also likes Disney but can't afford to get out to Orlando so I thought it would be something unique for her. :)

Wow she's going to love that. It's a really thoughtful gift :thumbsup2

I really hope so Clare. I tend to get more excited about presents than the person I'm giving them to so I'm hoping I haven't misjudged her interest in Disney.

Loved the TR - thank you again for sharing as this is the first big, complete TR I could find for the Fantasy.

Wow! Thanks for a great report. I really enjoyed your photos. I know it takes a lot of time & effort to post something like this and I appreciate it. I would have loved to be on the Maiden Voyage. I can't wait for my turn!

I've really enjoyed your surf part, looking forward to your turf now! As ever you have some fantastic photos.

Your wedding gift for your friend is outstanding and I'm sure she will love it, such a unique present and a lovely thought on your part.

Hi David, just catching up with your trip report and I'm enjoying it so much.

CC looks really different without the Black Pearl :scratchin

I hope your cruise was everything you hoped ::yes::, and looking forward to the next part of your TR :coffee:

Amazing! Thank you for taking the time to share your voyage... It has me even more excited for mine in a few weeks!

I enjoyed reading your TR, thanks for posting. Were the gifts from Disney each night for being a part of the maiden voyage or for some other reason?
