I haven't read much here about the Sports Simulators so I thought I'd share my experience with you. My son and I booked a half hour a few days after boarding (cost was $12). We showed up and the attendant gave us a quick 2 min primer on how to use the system (located on deck 13 aft near the 8th hole on the mini golf course). While we were under the impression that you would have to choose a sport then stick with that program for the entire half hour, it was even better than that in that you had complete control of the system thru a touchscreen monitor that allowed you to switch between the following:

-soccer (try to score on goalie Goofy)
-football (field goal kicking-which was impossibly difficult)
-football (passing challenge)
-hockey (just like soccer)
-basketball (didn't try this one)
-baseball (pitching only-try and strike out Goofy)

Beneath the computer is a rack full of various sports balls and equipment needed to play. My son and I had a ball and a half hour was more than enough and a great deal for the money.

Golf was a separate event located on the other side of the room. While we were there they had a longest drive challenge which was free to participate (see your navigator for times) and alot of fun as well. I wouldn't recommend the golf simulator for kids. It's quite difficult and less satisfying than the sports simulator (not to mention twice the price).

Thanks for the review. My daughter is a big soccer player and I was thinking I would have her give this a try. Now I will make sure she gets to do it.

Do you make an appointment or just show up?

You must first make a reservation at Guest Services on Deck 3.

Thank you so much for the information! I have several in my family who will want to do this on our cruise in June. Where do you book the appointments?

Thanks for sharing this. I'm always looking for something that my husband will enjoy for our cruise and I think the field goal kicking is right up his alley. Why do you think it was so difficult?

They provide a tee for the football and we each gave it a pretty good ride but came up woefully short in all of our attempts. My son had the most fun with the hockey simulator (despite the fact that he does not play hockey). But again, the great thing about this activity is that you can try them all.

How old is your son? I'm wondering how old a child should be to understand what to do and navigate the touch screen.

He is 10, which was a good age. Note that you are allowed to enter the simulator room with your child in order to help them through the process. Not sure if there is a cap on the number of people they will allow in there at one time? but two was definitely not a problem.

Thanks for the review! This sounds like something my DS would LOVE (especially the baseball).

I will add it to my list of things to sign up for!
