Fantasy policies - published (Sept now 4 nights)

Do we think they will offer a 3 night as well? I might keep it if we can get a 3 night for a back to back?

Seems weird if they just have the fantasy sit there 3 days each week.

No 3-night; their just doing the 4-night. I suspect they felt the 3-night would have a lot of cruisers doing B2B, who ultimately wouldn't be happy with the repeat and/or it was going to be a challenge to get the logistics worked out (Safe Passage, etc.). Plus it might not have worked out for the CC schedule with the Dream doing double-dips (no mention of whether the Fantasy is double-dip or not).

Yup confirmed with concierge when I called to ask a couple things. Just having downtime for Fanatasy.

Since they also announced that all cruises regardless of the ship will only go to Castaway, My guess is they will be turning all of them into double dips. That's three sailings a week, so 6 days occupied at the island.

Or they could make all of the three-day Dreams one CC and one sea day, And only do double dips for the four night cruises. I have a feeling these are some of the details they're still trying to iron now which is why they haven't given all of the information out yet

I was surprised (and a bit disheartened) that they didn't change the testing requirements based on what other cruise lines are doing (testing everyone at the port regardless of vaccination status). Maybe because they're sticking to shorter cruises.

I read that the 4 nights will be double dips. All current guest get a $400 shipboard credit, plus 25% off future cruise. Also will receive a prorated refund.

I just saw that, so this confirms 4 nights for the new Fantasy sailings. Still remains to be seen what they are doing with the Dream sailings after 9/6. We now know they will only visit Castaway, but I don't think they have said yet which are single vs double dips.

We are doing a B2B on the dream starting Friday. Safe passage was a breeze to do for both cruises.

We are on the october 16th 8 night on the fantasy. Got a feeling it won’t sail was advertised with San Juan already stating that only vaccinated passengers can get off the ship.

I think this move was (at least partially) so they didn't have to make that decision yet. I think they are still torn about pre-cruise testing, vaccine requirements, etc, and this was a way to resume without making that decision just yet. Wait and see if things improve, both in FL and in the islands they want to visit.

i think, like you said, Dream/fantasy 4 nights will be DD and the 3 night will be castaway/sea day on Dream.

I'm sure it is, but as a relatively last-minute change for the Fantasy sailings, it could have caused confusion. Some of those folks have already started their Safe Passage and maybe wouldn't realize they had to do it again for the second leg, etc. Those who originally planned B2B on the Dream go into it with that mindset they have 2 separate cruises.

Also, not sure if this was just added but once DCL resumes longer sailings (5 nights or longer), debarkation day testing (rapid PCR) will become mandatory, and the $65 fee per guest over 12 years of age will apply. Vaccinated guests will be allowed to bypass this requirement.

The release does not say whether some sort of report will be provided, that could potentially be used by out of country guests for their flights back home.

Hmm. No one told me I had to do safe passage for both cruises. I just figured it out myself. 2 cruises = 2 online check ins + 2 safe passages. Just common sense, really. Those guests who would be thinking about 2 September cruises on the fantasy still have almost a month to figure things out. About as much time as I had when DCL finally released the procedures for the dream.

Also, I sail on Friday. DCL sent me a notification this morning on my iPhone to make sure I had completed everything for sailing. It listed out everything that had to be done prior to boarding the ship.

Do you know if it is debarkation testing at every port? Or just at the conclusion of the cruise? Being tested mid-cruise is pretty much the only thing that will make me cancel our current December cruise. DH and I have been vaccinated but DD is only 11.5 and can't (as of yet).

Debarkation day only - not at every port

Well I called immediately this morning and was the first person to go through and get my cruise changed.

They reapplied my on boarding booking discount (had be in concierge on the Fantasy) and needed their business operation team to activate a couple codes to get the process through.

Person I spoke with was very nice took about 2 hours in all to get switched over to a Back to Back on the Dream.

It would not be without kids. Anyone 12+ would need to be vaccinated, but those under 12 would not be required (because they are not currently eligible).
You're probably right.
Hypothetically? It would be very quiet, and VERY empty. I just don't see Disney ever going that route. They can't and won't sail a 100% vaccinated cruise, or at least not until the vaccine is available for all ages. I can see them sailing with a requirement that everyone 12+ is vaccinated, but I can't see them sailing without kids at all under 12.
Yes, hypothetically. It would be something completely different from the normal Disney experience, that's for sure!
