Fantasy June 29, 2013 Meet Up!

Hi. We are new to fish extenders, but would love to participate. The 2nd post on this thread said the cutoff would be 5/31/13. I hope we are not too late... I tried to PM but am new to the Disboards so I need a few more posts before it will allow me to PM.

This is our family's first 7 day disney cruise, plus we are renewing our vows on the ship... So participating in the FE would make it even more special.

I don't remember if I said welcome or not....so WELCOME!!!!

I know right? We would stay on Orlando the night before but I don't think the boys could resist the lure of the theme parks, plus we ALWAYS hit up the restaurant in Titusville on our way down and they would be upset if we missed "Dancing Shrimpies" this trip.

Got my cruise docs in the mail! So excited. Now I need to get working on my FE gifties! I have all the stuff just need to get me and the kids organized and start putting stuff together

Yeah, there is still a little twinge in me saying that we should have stayed at WDW for a night. But it would be such a tease.

Could someone tell me if I have this wrong. Somewhere I remember someone telling us not to put our disney cruise line tags on our luggage until we got to our hotel, since when we arrive to Orlando we are taking a magic express bus from the airport to the Art of Animation hotel for one night prior to taking the disney cruise bus to the boat. But, we only received one set of luggage tags (the blue cruise line tags).

Will the tags needed for the magic express bus to take our bags to the hotel come later or am I mistaken about this.

When you registered for the hotel, did you let them know you will be using ME? I do believe you should have separate luggage tags. You would put the ME tags on the bags from home to MCO. Then the morning of the cruise, you would put on the DCL tags. At least I think that is how it should work

Wow...4 weeks from now I will be in vacation mode, trying to get through my last day of work before getting on a plane the next morning

I'm trying to get my high-level itinerary down so that we don't miss anything we don't want to. Did we finalize the DIS meet? A quick search of the thread turned up 3pm on June 29th in the Tube - is that final?

So excited! I think I spend half the day thinking about vacation!

hahahaha, that's exactly how I feel about the FE. I sure got a few years' worth of craft ideas in the last two months and went on a crazy eBay binge.

We've never even been on a Disney cruise and already I'm planning the next one. We've only cruised once and it was 9 years ago for a weekend trip out of LA, so not much of a cruise.
I'm thinking of the Alaska cruise because it's closer to us. I would have liked to book a Hawaii cruise but oh well.

We're planning an Aulani trip next year too. Mid/late June is our plan right now...but with 7-month booking I guess we'll see what we can get.

I agree I am worried about the 7 month point, but this year they offered discounts so I am hoping that means they weren't full

our Fish Extenders ready!!! I think I am going to have to use a whole carry on size bag to fit them all. This is the biggest FE we have done on all of our cruises! Excited and counting down the days until we go!!!

LOL - I booked my first three cruises at the same time. We were originally doing the B2B on the Dream as our first and second cruise but then added the 2-night cruise to nowhere. So I definitely jumped straight in to Disney cruising

We are doing Alaska in 2014. I would have liked the Hawaii one also but since it was only offered during the school year, that wouldn't work for us. I'm also still hoping for a PC cruise someday, but those are usually during the school year too. I used up our last OBB for Alaska so I will probably book another dummy when we are on the ship, just to have one.

That is what I had to do in the past (use a carry on bag). That was part of the reason I decided not to join in this time. With 5 people and all the luggage we already have to deal with, I didn't think I could handle adding in the additonal bag/weight for all the gifts.

I was so excited to turn the calendar over to June
It is nice to be on the same page as the day we leave!!!

Thanks for attempting to gather a second group. This will be our first time doing FE and we are all pretty excited about it. Shocked how much more fun this is making the trip for us than we were already excited to have.

I just wanted to make sure all my info made it to you when I signed up on the 29th or 30th of last month. Being new at this you want to make sure everything is going as planned. 1st fish extender time but not 1st Disney cruise. Kids can't wait. Thanks.

suitcase with the FE's because it really adds to the cruise. My DD loves it. She loves giving out the gifts and coming back to the room and finding gifts.

It is hard to pack for a 10 day vacation. Does everyone get dressed up for formal night?

We do! Hopefully my gown is getting dropped off at the dry cleaners today!

I agree it's hard to pack for, though - especially if you are doing any parks before or after the cruise! Our 3 pre-cruise days are the hardest to pack for!
